LFR has been proven time and time again to be damaging to the game’s playerbase and also affects participation in higher raid tiers. Not to also mention that it rewards loot for bad gameplay and little effort, as evidenced by LFR N’Zoth when it first released for the first couple of weeks. For the enjoyment and health of Shadowlands, I think it would be great to see a complete removal of LFR or at least the removal of loot from that said mode, as I agree it should still be there for storytelling purposes.

Blizzard came out and said more players participate in LFR than any other difficulty of a raid.

Blizzard has specifically stated they can only justify the resources to create raids because of LFR.
Less than 2% of the player base raids beyond LFR. (As stated by Blizzard)
So, it’s actually the opposite, LFR is the cornerstone of raiding. Without it there would be no raids at all.
