Nobody is crying about PvP

People don’t want to understand, they want to gloat and be smug about how sweaty they are. It doesn’t really matter the game will die because it can’t be played

Nobody cries when their family members die. They cry because they don’t come back because they’re dead.

Not a problem. You thought you did, but you didn’t. It happens.

I want to do something for you to show just how unbalanced some of these servers are. Lets assume there is is 60/40 split. This isn’t really a problem when you are talking about 10 people, but can become a huge problem when you increase the number. a 60/40 split with a server population of 5000 people is 1000 additional players. How the hell is the 40% faction supposed to compete with that. if there is equal population in every zone the horde have 25 additional players per zone

In all honesty people are crying about PvE. Alliance just happens to be the E.

I played on two different pvp servers in vanilla and it was nothing like this.

Any mmo I played after wow exclusively on pvp servers were nothing like this.

The total population + faction imbalances have created MAJOR issues and if something isn’t done very soon, every pvp server will die.

So instead of herding buffalo off a cliff maybe we should consider long term consequences if we want pvp servers to even exist by the time bwl comes out.

Unbalanced PvP is literally the defining feature of PvP servers. If you only wanted to PvP when odds are even, or in your favor, that’s called PvE in WoW.

I don’t know how so many people made this mistake, but apparently they did, and Blizz should just offer free transfers of PvP -> PvE. Thus will pass yet another season of “Yay I Love PvP Oh Wait This is Horrible,” a long-running program that began circa 1998.

Another completely ignorant take

I played on two different vanilla pvp servers
I’ve played 5 other mmos since vanilla exclusively on pvp servers

I’ve never seen anything remotely like this. Stop claiming that expectations are based on fantasy.

It’s not just about population imbalance or “fairness”. There are too many players on servers. The zones aren’t big enough. And alliance players are sitting in IF refusing to pvp while horde players are.

Your attitude will just lead to players quitting and all pvp servers dying. So keep it up, you’ll be crying here in a month about queue times, honor grinding and empty servers. And you can blame yourself.

Most servers are relatively balanced. There can’t be equal numbers of both sides at any given point on the map and you can’t force people to go out and world PVP.

If one faction had most of their people sitting around in town then it doesn’t matter how balanced the factions are.

“PvP is awful because the PvP servers are too popular” is not a convincing argument.

If things are that bad, then Blizz can either let the refugees migrate away, or the refugees will leave the game. Their call, but it won’t affect me. I don’t really PvP at all, for the same reason that I don’t hit myself in the head with hammers. I’m just amused at 20+ years of people insisting that PvP is awesome - except for every actual implementation of PvP, which apparently sucks.

And here you are, talking about it like a mindless troll. Bubye

So PvP sucks, but only people who PvP get to point this out. OK…?

I’m not the one leaving, as I have no complaints. But sure, bye.

Okay? It wasn’t like this for anyone, because Blizzard raised the population caps on all the realms to be several times what they were in vanilla.

The balance (or lack thereof) is not what causes the problems people are complaining about.

Not sure how that’s relevant. This isn’t “any mmo.”

PvP realms are going to exist regardless. I’m not sure what you expect is going to happen. Blizzard notices some realms are 1:3 and just disable all PvP realms, or something?

I’d say it’s called BGs, actually. Just wait until then.

I don’t believe pve realms are dying, or the pvp ones that are balanced.

if they had the numbers they would do the same thing they are just whining because they dont.

If you play the Overpopulated faction on an imbalanced server, it’s the same as PvE anyway.

Yeah, what IS that? Why the big hang up over pixels dying? Not like it’s game over. You just rez and get back after it.

Saw it in retail BGs. So weird.

Undoubtedly, I’m not trying to say that there’s anything unique about the behavior. If you gave any given Modern Warfare Lobby if they’d play a 15v2 for free do farming they’d probably do it. This is the Internet after all.

Furthermore there are some less common instances of the reverse and of course ally do the same thing.

That’s why it’s incumbent on blizzard to balance the servers as you could never reasonably expect players collective decision making to produce a playable outcome.

you cant balance player choice.

I’m sure many others have pointed out the stupidity of basically everything you’ve said in this thread so far, but since I only have so much time in the day to browse these threads, I’ll jump in here. In addition to cherry picking Incelf’s responses to you and ignoring almost all of the substance of his arguments, you also are completely missing the point.

People are not frustrated that they “got killed at a flight path”. The obvious, implied, unspoken additional sentence after that is “and there’s nothing I can do about it”. I would ask you if you actually believe people are upset that they died at a flight path, but then you would ignore all the rest of my post and only quote that one sentence so you don’t have to deal with the argument, though you’ll find a way. You always find a way. Maybe you’ll just quote the last sentence of my first paragraph instead to dodge the argument.

Faction imbalance is the root of the problem. People would not be upset about repeatedly dying in WPVP if they had a fighting chance. It is the perceived hopelessness of these encounters that is sparking the outrage, not the actual occurrence of them.

Yes you absolutely can.

Que times, either at login or make the BGs realm specific (consistent with the #NOCHANGES!1! philosophy) and then let people follow the lower times to balance the servers.
