You mean like, having the mount exist but the drop is bugged and doesn’t actually drop for several years, as with the Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent?

That’s great for you. I’m 0/42 any I have friends that are already in the hundreds over multiple accounts.
Remember, you may get something in the first few kills but there are going to be people who go thousands without it unless blizzard starts introducing bad luck protection that eventually hits 100% for things.

Man, don’t remind me. I was so salty when I learned that I had been farming that mount for so long, only to find out I literally couldn’t have gotten it. I don’t think it was years though, but it was definitely a number of months after MoP launch when people learned the truth.

They should start doing what they did for the axe.
Every time you do it, you get a higher percentage chance of getting it the next time.

Holidays and short term events should not be RNG drops, as a more positive sense of progression exists when there is a solid goal to work towards something and be able to earn said reward by the end of the event through currency used at vendors.

Looking it up, yeah, seems it was fixed around the time Throne of Thunder happened. For some reason I remembered the fix being during WoD.

I’m aware of that. But as you might be able to imagine, it’s a problem for this event.
There is group finder as a solution.
Another solution is to instance the holiday boss
An even better option is no boss fight at all and put all that stuff on the vendor for a high amount of eggs.

I don’t have this particular mount yet, And I’ve been farming daily on my main and various alts. I also don’t have any of the transmog pieces either that have a chance at dropping.
All I’ve been getting so far is just chocolate each day! Really hoping to get this mount.
