Keep in mind, it isn’t as simple as buffing ret. Ret, in classic wow, is the in the top echelon of 1v1 fighters in PvP due to their defenses and utility. A buff to their damage to be viable would BREAK them in pvp to a large margin destroying everyone.

Yup, we already saw this in the OG TBC to wrath time frame. Nothing but ret pallys in all BG’s lawl… I saw how stupid OP they where in the wotlk beta and leveled one just for the funzies.
Whats really crazy is that there is literally SOD. I dont get why everyone wants these changes to classic when they have legit made a whole season just for this stuff.

Meta slaves are always going to be meta slaves. Shadow priests, boomkins, non tank ferals, enhancement, etc are going to get the same treatment in classic from sweats.

Agreed, this is why I’m not really proposing a DPS buff (other than being able to use Exorcism on all targets). See my post above. Instead, I’m trying to focus on sustain and group desirability, predominantly in the PvE area.
Ret Pallies as a PvP class are kind of awesome and I love playing it 
Wish this logic would be imbed to all player’s mind.

No no. I believe all meme specs should be given SOMETHING to not look like a carried weight.
My philosophy is that no DPS should not be able to out DPS the tank and should at least do aproxx ~100-200 dps more than the average tank.

Hard to disagree. As I stated, Retribution Paladin’s don’t need to be overhauled. Simply fixed.
Sanctity Aura should increase damage percentage by 3-5% of party or raid instead of increasing Spell-Damage to avoid being gated to caster groups and missing Battle Shout, True-Shot Aura, ect.

I mean i love paladins but, if ret got more damaging abilities, they would be a menace in pvp. They already can be really strong, even without something like crusader strike.
They could do this in a roundabout manner by buffing nightfall. It wouldn’t solve ret/enhance dps but it could make those specs contribute something to the raid.
I think there are multiple things wrong with vanilla specs. Not that anything will change because people are ok with this insane warrior mage rogue only meta.
Increase Druid and pally threat.
Give pally a taunt.
Fix pally mana return / mana costs
Ret needs love
Boomie needs love
Hunters need love
Shaman dps needs love
Shadow needs love
Warlock shadow bolt threat needs reduced
Druids need a normal res
Anyone that says vanilla was perfect is delusional. It was fun at the time and we have grown and seen the errors in blizzards judgement. They overlooked many things and simply ignored others. 20 years of knowledge has led to private servers being way better off as far as tuning and balancing goes. Blizzard needs to take notes.
