No Update on SOM Transfers Yet

Ah I see. Regardless I’m sure all 8 SoM Scarab Lords will be excited to hear they can keep it I guess

Well it’s coming so get over it.

SoM is meh. Are we going to get legitimate classic seasons?

Pre-patch transfers made sense to me. I was looking forward to playing wrath with my SoM character, so it’s rather unfortunate that I’ll be substantially behind behind now

Whos pretending lol. It’s purely cosmetic and they did the chain. Get over it.

Disappointing news honestly. A lot of people were hoping to get in with the pre-patch but now you’re saying it won’t come until after Wrath’s launch by a few months at the earliest. Could even not happen until early next year. At that point in time, your character being dusted off won’t even have access to a real proper leveling experience since any content before 80 will be mostly dead. Just like TBC, dungeons not at max level are going to die in a few months on most servers.

Guess the bonus is you may have friends with 80s to carry you to make it easier. It is an understandable decision and at the end of the day not that big of a deal, but it would’ve been nice to have the option should someone want to leave early.

SOM shouldn’t be allowed to skip TBC.

SOM shouldn’t be allowed to transfer to any WOTLK servers.

So many issues with this… they can literally get things they shouldn’t have and bring their gold cap to actual servers that mean something.

again have to ask you werent even originally going to get to transfer to wotlk so how is it a dissapointment they are giving you something extra here lol lol lol

This seems like a silly thing to 180 on.

Limited availability achievements should be kept just that, limited availability. Especially if the means by which they’re achieved are entirely changed (shorter time to R14, less carapaces needed to be farmed + gates opened for longer for scarab lord).

If you do TBC SOM would you please make gladiator the top 50% of teams (instead of 0.5%) and rank 1 the top 10% of teams (instead of 0.1%) please? I wasn’t able to achieve them in TBC classic so I’d like an easier time getting those mounts + titles before being merged with everyone, thanks!

At the end of classic will we be transferring our characters to retail? How do you think the original retail players with these feats will feel about all the new Scarab Lords, r14s, atiesh holders, glads, rank 1s? Probably not too happy I’d imagine.

The prestige of running around and seeing people with original items and titles completely diminishes when all u need to do is wait for the next SOM season to achieve them and merge with everyone again anyway.

They are separate iterations of the game, keep them separate!

This is probably going to happen about the same time they decide to open the flood gates on fresh realms and ruin the economy there.

Based on the timeframe given I’d say their destination is probably the new servers for Wrath.
But who knows as Blizz could Xbox* their way into something else.

*sorry too much Trade/LFG chat

Except its not the live game u play. Its CLASSIC. So u fall in the same category. Plus they did the same thing u did except they didnt have to make all the horde transfer to mankrik to actually accomplish it.

Same can be said about thoes who didnt get these titles back in 2006…

I understand the year commitment to SoM thing and I’ve read and understood a lot of the opinions in favor of Blizzard’s decision to not provide pre-patch copies to SOM characters. But I am the leader of a SOM guild and actually play SOM, I am not a TBC player looking at this from the outside in, but a SOM player looking at this from the perspective of a guild leader. 80% of my SOM raiders who were planning to pay for pre-patch copies on the 30th are now probably not going to play Wrath at all. That’s bad for you guys losing players but it’s also devastating to the few SOM communities that remain. Anyone claiming SOM achievements were easy mode didn’t play SOM. The 50, 60, 70 , 80 days of game time logged on these characters isn’t being respected. I respect the decision, but as a SOM raid lead looking to migrate some folks over for WOTLK, I do not like it.

Its okay, they dont want to put RDF to cater for this. You can just meet fwiends along the way.

The boost comes with prepatch, what update are you asking for?

Except people who earned those titles in classic are not being dumped out onto retail unlike the SoM players who were supposed to move onto classic 60 servers not WoTLKC. Nothing about earning them this go around was nerfed unlike SoM. Get the point yet?
