I want to grind but everything’s gated. Would love a pvp grind for gear even if it’s just pve stats, but it’s gated behind rating in arena. I just kind of stare at the ground for a while and log off after getting my conquest limit.
What is your definition of content?
What are you even talking about? It’s literally always worked this way since Arena’s inception, you’ve never been able to get all your gear right off the bat. People are using the “gating” boogieman without even knowing what they mean to say.
I just want the honey to flow.
Is that your new buzz word?
I’m surprised you can’t see it.
I know, burning crusade was a bad direction for the game. Grinding bgs for gear was fantastic in vanilla. And I wouldn’t have a problem with making the grind about pve stats. Something to do. I’m not trying to be some esports nth percentile champion. I don’t care about macros and addons enough.
I want to complain about literally everything that is, ever has been or ever will be.
Have I come to the right place?
The gear slows down in its drip because they cannot maintain a rapid pace indefinitely - eventually, you run short of upgrades to chase.
Upping the difficulty let’s you maintain keep the speed of upgrades going for a time - on my main, I’m 375 ilvl and doing M+10-+11 so most drops are still upgrades - but eventually, that slows too once you reach the highest difficulty and gear up.
Why do they want you to get a slow drip feed rather than everything at once then crash?
So that, until you’re fully capped, you can usually get an upgrade each week, essentially nerfing the content by making you stronger, letting you push a bit further and face harder challenges.
If you got all the gear immediately, it would rapidly become very binary: can you overcome a challenge now? If not, you might never. By doling out gear upgrades, you can slowly overcome ever greater challenges. A casual who does M+5 at the beginning of the season gears up and does M+15 by the end of the season.
Dragonflight has opened my mind to branch out a little more and try things I haven’t in a while. I went into the raid this week, not just LFR. Didn’t get far but I haven’t raided since WoD. I even did some bgs and I never pvp. But it’s actually super fun to do the pvp in the outside content too. It’s cool, but maybe having a good mindset about the game going in is making a difference for me.
Yea, I’ve honestly been kinda disappointed in DragonFlight. Though, I’ve never really liked WoW’s gameplay in general (never been into grinding, so I usually only pop in around the holiday events and let my sub expire for the rest of the year).
I do like dragonriding, that’s pretty fun. But I really can’t stand the rest of DF from what I’ve seen thus far, which is just your standard WoW gameplay (it’s just so boring). It’s fun for a little while after a five year break or so but that’s about it, and really only cuz I used to play a lot when I was little (mind you, even back in the BC days I hated grinding).
VERY lackluster expansion so far…I’m probably going to cancel sub until near the end of the expansion. I’m sure I won’t miss much and from the looks of it won’t have to grind rep or keys all day every day.
This just in…
Wow is a game of grinding content…
More FOREVER
For once I’m enjoying M+, excited to be disappointed by my vault rewards as usual though. Never get anything good like a weapon or in dragon flights case, would be so so nice to get a 411 tier piece this week.
I never understand people who play this game only to get satisfaction out of gear number going up. I just have fun doing M+ and raiding. I enjoy the content itself and getting better at it. Gear comes as a byproduct.
If you can’t enjoy the endgame activities in and of themselves then it’s probably best to unsub.
???
You have LFR, Normal, and Heroic Raid. M0s and M+. Unrated/Ranked PvP. Grind faction renown for cosmetics. Hidden puzzle mounts. Professions are deeper than they’ve ever been and you can make serious cash crafting and gathering. There are oodles of overworld treasures to find and fishing is relevant now. The auction house is a game in of itself.
There’s a plethora of battle pets to get, tons of quests for loremaster, renown rewards to earn and buy, communities of all kinds, hell you can even roleplay or do fashion mog hunting.
There’s plenty to do.
No MMO is ever complete.
Not that you care. You just want people to rally to your anti blizzard rant.
