One of the best ways to get people to fall in line and listen is to give them a common enemy - the terrorists after 9/11, for example. Another way is to divide your country - the left vs. the right, for example. And then cater to the right and make them think the left are the enemy.
I wonder what the red states would think if they learned the blue states were paying for them.

I imagine if that truth ever became more wide spread, a lot of people would really have their eyes open.
Red States rely on patriotism and nationalism propaganda to hide the fact they literally cannot feed or sustain their states populations without blue state funding.
I agree, politics really don’t have a place in video games. Not a huge fan of the statement because of how heated some get about it. But if we’re talking about simple things like LGBT people being in a video game, that is where I draw the line LGBT people simply being in a video game isn’t political in any shape or form.
That’s the thing - it’s not hidden. People just don’t want to leave their bubble, and unfortunately the bulk of the right love their bubble and think anything outside it is fake and the enemy.
Did you hear about why the coronavirus response was delayed federally? It was, “politically strategic” to delay the response as the blue states were the ones initially hit.

I’m not a fan of this. I think when you have a inept president like we do, who operates like a child, that’s definitely a petty possibility I wouldn’t put past him. But at the same time, I don’t like this rhetoric.
There’s so much misinformation going around, and a surprisingly high number of people who don’t know how to differentiate it. I’d rather keep things simple and avoid conjecture as much as possible, because imo it’s just fanning the flames.

Much of the criticisms are from behind closed doors, and this is another such thing. We have more than enough horrible things that can be proven, and have been - but this specific thing relates to the red vs. blue state argument.
Honestly, perhaps we’re contributing to malice what we should contribute to incompetence.

I think it’s a mixture of incompetence and also intent. There are definitely people in power who are intentionally using language to stroke fear. “Law and Order” was originally coined by Nixon, who’s campaign manager was notoriously racist and used ‘States Rights’ as a ploy to entice the south to start voting democratic. Our presidents appeal to suburban safety is a direct reference to white flight.
There’s definitely clear intent.

Woke culture is absolutely stupid, I agree - but it’s not a religion. Religion doesn’t require a deity figure (Buddhism has none), but it does require a belief in a superhuman or beyond natural means controlling power of some kind. At least, according to the official definition.

More like forced to. Reason goes nowhere, and arguing is pointless. All that’s left is basically that.
“Law and Order” from the political administration trampling on peoples’ rights and whose president is sewing discontent and a divisive narrative, yeah. As bad as Biden is, he’s a safe bet to actually return to some semblance of law & order so it’s more likely he’ll get the votes from those people.
Especially since the Bernie swing voters are most certainly not going to vote for Trump this time.
