No it didn’t. This is what I was talking about with you people not being able to sort the problem out and deciding that since you can’t no one possibly could. There are specific design changes that, when combined with shifting player behavior, did the bulk of the damage.
You don’t draw the line. The purpose of classic releases are to bring back the spirit of each expansion, not to redo each expansion but molded by the worst parts of vanilla’s design. When classic Cataclysm comes out it should include LFR. The fact that LFR is what kicked off the minimization of guilds is irrelevant, because it also opened up that content to people who otherwise wouldn’t have gotten to experience it. Asking them to accept a more exclusionary experience to go back and revisit their favorite or first expansion (or whatever Cata was to them) is malicious at best.
Everyone who is reasonable already had to suffer through vanilla and TBC classic with the idea of minimal changes as the north star for their implementation, despite there being a hundred and one changes that wouldn’t have negatively impacted the spirit of those expansions that could have made them much better experiences, and despite that there were many direly necessary changes as a concession to the realities of the modern playerbase. The fact that we are now having to suffer through more of the terrible design philosophy that ruined those two expansions is ridiculous, and the fact that you disingenuous, bad-faith, “nochange” trolls so freely expose your utter lack of consistency and positively revel in your wanton hypocrisy is vile.
We’re losing a core QoL feature of the game that is very strongly associated with this expansion, and we’re further losing it after overwhelming evidence of how toxic the game is without it. The absolute debacle of the TBCC LFG experience should have meant that even if RDF were straight not introduced until MoP, it should have been implemented in Wrath nonetheless, but instead it’s being stripped from the expansion it was implemented during when no iteration of the game has ever needed it more than the classic version does right now.
