The tool is scuffed as hell. You have to relist the group the LFG finder each time you enter a new zone while you’re on a flight path. It doesn’t even display the correct role you choose.
Iconically garbage and turned the game into a lobby like counterstrike. Yeah no.
Go play retail
EXTREMELY SCUFFED. UNPLAYABLE. YOU’LL NEVER GET MY $15 BLIZZ!
Also both TBC and Classic and even SoM did great without it.
If you really want it just go to retail…. It is a different crowd and different game. There is a reason a lot of us enjoy classic more
Doesn’t even matter if the tool is scuffed. Even if it worked as intended it wouldn’t change any of the issues the lack of RDF is going to cause. They’re just dragging you into a red herring argument.
Sounds a lot more like you should play Classic Era. I’m interested in playing Wrath, which is exactly the type of person who should play Wrath Classic.
Oh really? Cause blizzard said they aren’t adding it. So seems like I’m in the perfect position. ![]()
Maybe try using the lfg tool and stop whining
Mistakes happen and Blizzard says a lot of things. That’s why I’m here suffering you people: to help them correct those mistakes.
Too bad they aren’t gonna add it.
The lfg tool is great. Even dungeons like Maraudon and sunken temple are a breeze to find a group for as DPS
What do you mean ‘you people’? Wtf?
Rofl. I’m sure you saying this will convince all the people who are experiencing otherwise, and the many many more people who are going to experience otherwise as the situation worsens over the course of the expansion.
You mean the people who haven’t even used the tool and just throw tantrums because they can’t play like a lobby game and sit in the capital all day?
Wow. Very close minded
20 bucks said you would quit the first week anyway (female blood elf gives it away)
That’s why I spent the last 3 weeks leveling to 70. Yeah.
Definitely not who I mean.
Yeah, but people that wanted Classic wanted it because it didn’t have QoL changes everywhere.
So… why would they add a QoL change that ultimately wasn’t added until halfway through the expansion’s lifespan and cannot, in any way, be credited for the popularity of the game OR be called “an iconic feature”?
It was an afterthought, designed to (incorrectly) address a problem they thought tey were seeing, which was people quitting in large numbers.
Keep in mind that RDF was added at the absolute height of the game’s population. It STOPPED GROWING and they thought RDF would get them over that plateau and it would grow MORE.
It had the opposite effect. People burned through the content faster and left earlier. They have at least a dozen years of data to prove that now.
It is not.
In the last major patch though. You’re leaving that part out. They weren’t going to add much more content after that. RDF was a bandaid for a problem they had seen in Vanilla and TBC.
Problem is, it was a bandaid over a gaping wound that a bandaid could never cover.
This could be fixed, but removing you from the channel is by design. They don’t want people just hanging out and chatting there. It’s for looking for a group and nothing else. There are other channels to chat in.
Another thing that needs to be fixed, sure. The tool isn’t overall perfect, but it does the basic job it’s design to do which is help you get a group for the content you want while keeping the control of “who and where” in the hands of the players.
Yeah, MMOs don’t need to operate like a CoD kind of game. If I want a random queue, I’ll play a FPS.
Great post
It quite literally is. People heavily (and positively) associate RDF with Wrath of the Lich King, which is what it means to be iconic.
I’m not at all leaving that part out. I generally don’t have to say it because I’m responding to people who are, in bad faith, saying it wasn’t even introduced until the last major patch in a deceptive bid to imply it wasn’t a major part of the expansion. You know, like I was here, in the comment you quoted, where I responded to someone who said:
It’s almost like you only know how to argue in bad faith yourself. Frankly I’m shocked at the behavior from an anti-RDF crusader when your group is generally one I associate with honest and plain discussion.
If I wanted an RDF-less game I’d probably play Classic Era instead of hypocritically cheering on the removal of an iconic and wildly beneficial system from the original run of Wrath of the Lich King.
It’s not in bad faith.
The most important parts of the game didn’t have RDF. They added it and then the player numbers hit a plateau.
They kept adding more quality of life changes and turned it into a lobby game. Surprise surprise classic has a bigger playerbase than retail.
Go play retail noob.
The most important parts are Ulduar and ICC, which RDF was in for most of. It was also in the expansion for half of its total run.
Not because of RDF, lol.
Would love to see your source for this.
