No Rationale for Chaos Bolt Shutdown

Because theres two rppvp servers and only one rp server? Because chaos bolt was never supposed to exist in the first place? Why would they shut down the only rp server? :joy:

There was no rationale when making this post.

Yet sod has more logged raids every week than both wrath and retail :joy:

alts :expressionless: 10char

People can have alts in other versions of the game.

If CB was never supposed to exist then CS RP-PVP should be rebranded to “CC”, “Content Creation”. Since that’s who it’s been meant for from day 1, content creators. The Devs were even playfully coy about it on twitter before launch. It was never meant to be an rp-pvp server.

Yeah they didn’t want chaos bolt to exist in the first place. But then why make the overflow server rppvp.

Whats bad about them waiting this long to shut down the server is that already communities and guilds were formed, and then we are just told to shove off to Crusader Strike. The very same server that people rolled here to avoid. Our whole identity and demographic is made up of people who hated streamers and their followers and liked a smaller server and now we were forced to go back to CS. No wonder everyone is angry lol.

Anyway Im still confused about something. How does Blizzard know that everyone on CB was upset and wanted a way off. I get they have their metrics but most people I talked to or knew enjoyed the server. I remember even anecdotally someone complaining loudly in p1 that the server was dead in trade and he got dogpiled by 5 or 6 people lol.

People rolled on chaos bolt because crusader strike was full.

I loved CB… Now all i see is advertisements for summons, boosts, and high parsing groups in general chat. CB was a nice quiet home to chill and have fun… I cant wait for long queues in 2 days.

most the people that rolled CB because CS was full of stream followers.

People that rolled because they didn’t want to be subject to those peoples fanbase are a thing. I moved cause my guild and friends wanted to give CS a chance, I miss my cozy server.

Ya keep telling yourself that.

There are a bunch of annoying justifications for the “how” they did it — like CS as the destination because it’s the only other RPPvP server in the region, and CB being shut for no other reason than it was an “extra” RPPvP server, and LL not being closed because it’s the only RP server in the region.

The part that is unjustified is “why?”
People don’t wanna play on megaservers. They deliberately avoided CS. They realize that playing on a healthy population server means there will be peak hours and slow hours. Layers and an unrecognizable blob of players is not the way the WoW experience should be curated, and it’s not how it should be played.

Exactly. And then they wonder why people are pissed. It’s just “we did it this way and we don’t care what you think”

And then they lack the decency to properly communicate with the players they screwed over. That says a lot about these guys.

AND THEN had the irony for this first sentence in their thread offering transfers “At the beginning of Season of Discovery we reassured you that there was no wrong choice for realms” …. No, that’s just exactly what happened.

You’re not thinking like BLizzard.

Dev: Soooo… Will it annoy some people?
Dev2: Oh yes, definitively, it will bum them out.
Dev starts rubbing nipples
Dev: How… how much will it bum them out?

If you want to play on Chaos Bolt you need to order 200 channels in portugese

Don’t need to, I am one and I’ve spoken to people who feel the same- guilds worth of people.

Maybe your the one in denial to think everyone wants to play on high pop full of people who don’t respect the RP in Rp-pvp.
