No new race class combos?

Vulpera Druids

Just like those of us who favor ranged casters have felt every other time new classes have been introduced. I don’t feel bad at all. There have been three new tank specs introduced since TBC.

Literally anything? Since when should your race 100% determine your job? I have a hard time believing no one in azeroth wants to explore a class not traditional for their races culture. It’s a mixing pot world afterall and all races and cultures should be free to mix and live how they want. If some gnome gets saved from an undead attack by a human paladin when he’s/she’s a child, why should he/she not want to, and be free to, grow up and be a paladin one day too?

Exactly. And yeah, my character is a HERO, he SHOULD be the exception to all race/class combinations.

Think they’re still on the fence regarding opening up any new race/class combinations. I suspect some things they are holding off on for story reasons, like Paladins for more races, for instance.

That said, it’s safe to say there won’t be any new race/class combinations besides Dracthyr Evoker in Dragonflight.

This is hilariously how we have a thousand different races with a thousand different clans.

Orcs we’re not originally warlocks.

Dwarfs we’re not originally shamans.

The story of Warcraft is literally the story of the races we playing trying things that are Taboo.

There could still be more to come. All SL features weren’t in the first videos either.

Night Elf Mages. - Highborne is the reason.

Gnome Priests - Used to be impossible.

Orc Paladins please. I just can’t enjoy anything wow has to offer until I’m able to play my favorite class as my favorite race.

I had a D&D character that was a half orc paladin. It was a lot of fun to play since it was so different from the human and dwarf paladins I’d played.

I’m not demanding a mile… just a minimum of 7 inches…

“The team is discussing new race/class combos.”

Paraphrased from MMO Champ. Can I get my hopes up??

Nani!? I sure hope so.

I would like to see a few more, specifically Night Elf Paladins.

Human Shaman for me. Dunno what the lore would be but its all Ive wanted since launch.

The first raid is apparently heavily elemental dragon themed, featuring dragons that have elemental powers on the level of the Aspects. These dragons did not form a bond with the Titans and are actually Galakrond loyalists that see dragons as the rightful rulers of Azeroth due to being the alpha specimen, most powerful biggest and most intimidating.

But, if there’s that much elemental presence, how’s about letting a bunch more races learn shamanism? Night Elf, Worgen, Human, Undead, Blood Elf maybe? Maybe Nightborne too?

From Blizzplanets Interview…I don’t feel too hopeful, but we will see I guess.

Cory Taylor: Are we going to get any more race/class combinations in 10.0? I don’t know, let’s say Night Elf Paladins, maybe?

Jackie: Maybe one of those ones that’s been like around. We’re still talking. That’s something that is always on discussion. For the 10.0 launch, we are focused on the Dracthyr Evokers, but it’s definitely something we’ve heard a lot about on the team, and something that we talk about a lot.

Hopefully that means more combos are possible for 10.1 and over. I know I’m reaching, but it’s ok, I’ll risk the emotional trauma.
