No New Customizations is the "Don't you guys have phones" of 2021

I’m gonna try eso personally too.

SWTOR/WoW will become SWTOR/ESO for me

I heard final fantasy has a good relationship with their community / fans too so that is reassuring if that is where you decide to go!

Wish you all the best :hugs:

I’m finally giving final fantasy XIV a try. Enjoying myself so far. Not alt friendly but that’s alright, I’ll have the resources I need to RP as I work on my character and learn the lore.

I played ff14 for a bit. Might resub. As that new class they announced look real good. And I miss playing final fantasy games. (I might just play those on steam). I know I made some characters a long time ago and they looked pretty good. Final fantasy was one of the reasons I got into WoW. But I may try that or ff12.
Redmage/ black mage/ monk/ dragoon/ samurai sound good. I am also interested in the Hrothgar as Kimahri was a cool character in ffx.

Yeah previously I had no interest in it. That was because I was too attached to WoW.

Considering how this community and Blizzard themselves basically has no care about the RP community and would rather see us leave, though, I’m bloody fed up.

That’s fine. Bye. (Not to you, to them.)

I have heard good things from ff14. I know I enjoy there single player games. World of final fantasy was fun if you enjoy stuff like pokemon/ pet battles. I also heard ff14 ties in some of the world from the other games too. I may play for a bit till my sub ends. I do hope blizz considers changing their position, at the very least for allied races.

I’d be pretty hesitant about that, since they like to remove so much as incentive to get things, they could easily start doing that with customization. I’d be pretty upset if even hairstyles and stuff started being exclusive to raiders as well.

I like the idea of unlocking looks with story quests though.

Oh yikes. That’s a very good point, agreed.

I played it for a while and fell on my knees and cried after the first expansions main story when I was told to do the prestory to get into the main story of the next expansion. After being a WoW player for so long the GCD and comboing abilities feel weird to me.

Other then that I was having a blast. I played a Paladin who I focused hard on looking good while leveling and used some money I had from questing and crafting and got this badass sword that had a glowing animation when you unsheathed it. And a shield that did the same thing but it removes its cover when unsheathed. It was awesome!

They tend to theme their raids around other games. Other FF games, like III or Tactics, or other games altogether, like Nier and Monster Hunter. Other than those, there are a ton of your typical Final Fantasy Easter eggs. There’s you Cid and the Airship. Biggs and Wedge. The running jokes keep running.

I’m definitely disappointed in the lack of customizations. The new customizations added in SL were often described as an update to a severely low amount of customizations for a modern MMO (not to mention the most popular and profitable one at that).

For the team to say that what they added was enough feels bad, but also it is likely just a case of the art team being responsible for a lot more than just customizations and being understaffed. I’ve also heard people mention the possibility that they will use future additional character customizations to lure in people to purchase each future expansion.

Also I find it funny that they’re doing the “Blizzard knows best!” stance after seeing how many times its blown up in their face.

Why listening to the community is so hard for them is something I’ll never understand. I have several reasons in my head as to why it is, but I’ll never understand how they reached that conclusion and think things will be okay.

Easy fix - make it BoE.

Blizzard has this strange fixation with keeping everything BoP these days, though. Which is funny, because the scarcity of loot currently would be completely alleviated with the ability to trade gear.

If someone gets something traded to them that they didn’t “work for,” so what? Who is it harming? Someone did the work for it. But that’s neither here nor there.

I mean, I do totally get that there should be incentives to raid. I just think they have plenty already, and some people won’t/can’t raid for whatever reason.

Nah you’re entirely right. Honestly questline stuff like night warrior would be useful because we get expanded lore in that case too for less looked at parts of the game.

You ever run into an old guy that still thinks he is physically capable of the things he did when he was in his early 20s? It’s the game developer version of that.

Blizzard’s self-perception does not align with reality.

Indeed, blizzard acts like a small indie company. Of course they can give us more costumizations, they just dont want to. All money we invest with subs are going to their mobile trash projects.

ah… alrighty just wanted to be sure.

For me, mobile games are, “You think we do, but we don’t.” territory.

Maybe they were too attached to bop it so they continue playing it while making wow.

If it were raid exclusive, being boe would help though. I just think they would start doing time locked ones, like mage tower looks. I feel like hairstyles and other such things should not be locked in such a way.

Especially when so races still have far less in comparison to others.

Sigh. If only blizz made a pocket dimension where we could have boss fights from things from other universes. Blizz cares too much about it’s own lore to prioritize gameplay (stuff like race/class comboes being restricted due to old lore and not being updated when stuff in the story shows that more races could be things like Rangari rogues).
