No New Customizations is the "Don't you guys have phones" of 2021

I don’t particularly see any daylight between this and the people telling others to get over their customization concerns.

Since 2004. Is that not “newly released” enough, since vanilla Tauren had the lousiest, least customization for the longest time?

It’s very simple, it involves further infringing on a pre existing theme for a Horde core race, and most people will support more Void options for Void Elves so it’s not the same as defending or putting down people asking for customizations across the board.

But you should already know that I assume.

And I’m not interested in further making this about HEs considering that’s where you started from and that conversation topic having light benefits you, but that isn’t what either the comment you replied to or this thread is about.

One person is literally defending new phone apps over customization.
At that point I have to ask are those people serious? This seems so random, malicious (perhaps without realizing it?) and weird to me.

Who cares about elf competitions, we just want more customizations for all races.

Even though it doesn’t matter mobile gets priority now.

I had wondered about this too.

7k+ upvotes and it sunk lower than so much else.

As far as I know it wasn’t modded by Blizz staff… so how could they kill it?

I have no idea, after a time I gave up searching for it. At least I still have the link.
It’s however strange.

i kinda want people to place there bets on what escuse they will come up with.
like imagine…
" would have costed you 2 raid tiers. sorrz "

The sad thing is… I think some people would believe them if they said something like that.

Its simple really. Keep cutting job from Warcraft in favor of money for devs to work on “classic” versions of diablo and wacraft mobile. Game companies do this all the time, not necessarily Ion’s fault.

Still, someone is making the choice not to care about customization in the worlds most popular MMORPG and its the dumbest thing Blizz has done since the Blitzchung incident.

100%.
blizz apologists are shameless sometimes.
then after the xpac ends they come out with new customizations only aquired through a advanced sub.
like 30 bucks "legendary subscription!! " just to use some new customization options.

This is why it’s time:

Unpopular opinion, but the only way we’re going to get cosmetic upgrades is if we pay extra.

I really thought thats what they intended with Torghast when all this was first getting announced.

Racial or class customization rewards for certain tiers of completion.

So I just came to a horrible realization… The reason we aren’t getting anymore customizations for the rest of the expansion, the reason patch 9.1s gear will literally be a recolor of the legendary set that we already have in the game right now that we are all running around in, the reason it feels like the art team isn’t really doing much next patch and quite possible the patch after, is because of one reason… mobile games.

We all know that there is a warcraft mobile game coming, and we know Blizzard often likes to shift people around their departments for their new projects, so what if they shifted a good bunch of the art team in order to focus on their upcoming Warcraft mobile game that they already confirmed is coming?

We all know the meme. They add in one thing, and it costed us a whole raid tier. Well this time, they make a new mobile game, and it costed us our customization options.

Its actually far worse than that.

Mobile games use different tech, so they may be getting other devs from another company to work it (they did so on Reforged which is part of the reason it went so badly), BUT it does signal that they dont have the resources to do customizations right now because they have cut funding from Wow overall to switch more focus to the mobile game.

And OFC the classic iterations of Diablo, OVerwatch 2, whatever they wanna work on.

If Wow players will keep paying to jump on the artifact power express with crappy character models for years, why put the real money into Wow?

Better to chase those Millenials $$$ with mobile and Overwatch!

My character in FF can choose, yes, several idle stances. I can’t believe how much RP stuff that game has. It’s a heads up to WoW that has remained big with lacking so much of these things, but still it’s sad that this game is so far behind others.

Stances are also available in Eso, I believe there is a “drunk”, “zombie” and others.

Their customization is also rather ridiculous though class/encounter design was absolute garbage when I attempted to play it. Though they atleast have a siege pvp mode.

Is “don’t you guys have phones” the “let them eat cake” of 201X?

Mobile games are very profitable because they are such a wide base of casual players. (That includes older adults that don’t consider themselves gamers but play on their smart phones games like candy crush). I would be surprised if blizzard didn’t try to get more people from that market. I would also be sad if the customization expansion got ruined for phone apps. I guess I will have to keep my ears and eyes pierced for any mobile phone announcements.

Seems like I may try ESO or ff14. As other people said in this thread… if we don’t like it then we should leave…
