So that whole thing about “more customization options coming throughout Shadowlands” was just another of the many, many bald-faced lies we’ve been fed.
Bravo, par for the course of keeping our expectations low.
Super glad I have nothing to look forward to in that regard, and may as well just delete my LF draenei and replace them with a regular sort of draenei with superior customization choices. (Also, when are they gonna fix the bugs in the new options, like the blackened mouths for dark-skinned human skin tones?)
Edit: I just want to add my confusion to how they state that it was immensely popular and people loved it, yet… They don’t want to add more to it. Like, it seems like it was a shining example of something that people (for the most part) just loved because it was entirely additive.
I just don’t get it, it’s such an easy win for them. Customization affects all players, it’s why people like farming old content for new mogs or farm mounts. They clearly know this, since they’re adding new cosmetic items in 9.1. It’s the one thing they could do that people will pretty much all like.
If they added zero new systems from now on, but kept expanding the customization options, I’m pretty sure people would give them a bigger pass on so many things. It’s a no-brainer, especially to keep people playing, same with fixing legacy content, but… apparently not.
Just today I was playing around, making a new male belf and thought “these customization options are lacking compared to the women’s options.” Followed by the hope more would be coming soon.
I have one of each allied race and they really need some love, too. All we’re asking for is more options to make our characters into something we love. Instead we get more Torghast. Huzzah.
Ion said something along the lines of “we have listened to your feedback and are going to give you what the players want” then announced mega-dungeons, torghast, more renown, things no one asked for.
Very disappointing. They also hint at the whole “it would cost a raid tier” thing during that answer by talking about content. I don’t understand why WoW is so limited by art. It seems to be the limiting factor when it comes to everything.
Tons of other MMOs add new character customizations on a regular, ongoing basis. Not once every 5 years.
I think the game could use a lot more character customizations. I feel like they Bombed the whole scar thing. I love the idea… But there aren’t enough options for all the Races. And some of them are just trash. We all need huge updates for new Races.
