No more myth transmog appearances from heroic upgrades in Midnight

Can you explain how you feel this will make the game better, how that will get them more players, more engagement, more consistent subs, extend the game’s longevity?

Cause I’m not seeing how “its good for this one color or armor to have a longer period where it’s harder for more people to attain” does any of that besides give you the warm and fuzzy that 'that’s how it should be."

My enthusiasm for Midnight just tanked. Me and my wife have had the most fun in a LONG time being able to grind delves on alts every week to collect mythic appearances.

Is this really something mythic raiders were complaining about? Why make these appearances unobtainable for more than 95% of the player base?

I’ve seen so many positive things coming from Blizzard lately, but they just can’t help themselves it seems. They have to find some way to suck the fun out of the things people enjoy.

That makes this decision make even less sense…why do this now? With so many delves coming in Midnight.

This is one of the few things that I genuinely believes needs to just be entirely reverted. Hope Blizz undos this change! Very unpopular, the only major L to the news today imo.

Adding unique incentives to a content makes people do that content more. Pushing people to do more content can extend the game longevity and make people sub for longer. I don’t know if it’s serious or not as a question but I feel it’s not that complicated.

You’re not entitled to get all the rewards for sticking to one content and have never been. But like I said before, I get people disliking this as they’re losing something. Which is why they could easily add more instead of removing at least for those that wouldn’t normally do the content or alts.

like i didnt even have the stomach to log in today i am so disheartened

Mmmmm I am not in favor of this change. This makes obtaining much of the mythic sets a dream while the content is current. But then just after it’s old it becomes easy af to get anyways. lol

On the flip side…

This maybe makes getting full sets of tier easier to get too.

Just not mythic.

Exactly!!!

It pushes some to do that content more. It also pushes some who were getting those rewards from a step below, to disengage from that, or even to disengage from the game entirely. I don’t know which way it balances out, but making more rewards exclusive does not uniformly increase player engagement.

Personally, I think that the final tier of mog appearance is exclusive enough with requiring people to reach a certain ilvl, rather than requiring the gear to be DROPPED at that ilvl.

may as well just remove gilded crests from delves and make tier 8 cap

I’m not thrilled about this change. Being able to acquire Puzzling Cartel Chips in LFR worked for me. But I still wouldn’t call it an attack on solo players.

I’m just not seeing it as some sort of conspiracy against solo players. And all of these things (more delves, LFR and Chips, tier transmog) are likely unrelated decisions on Blizz’s part.

100% agreed.

This is once again Blizzard deciding to punish the playerbase for no good reason in the name preserving ‘value and identity.’ and how exactly does that change when two expansions later I can farm that same mythic gear solo or with one or two friends and get it that way?

The current upgrade system (with respect to gear getting visual changes as you upgrade) works perfectly fine. There’s no need to break it, especially when no one asked for the change in the first place.

This is about transmog tho

yeah, no point in running for gilded if you cant get the mythic appearance from a hero piece

My opinion is the people who are interested in Mythic raiding will already do Mythic raiding. If the appearance is the main draw people who just want that will just wait a year to do mog runs.

Nobody is doing tryouts, finding a guild, locking into the schedule and hard work just for raid mogs that are way easier to attain later.

MAYBE if they said ‘they are now exclusive and they will go away like elite sets next season’ people would be motivated by those sets. But that’s not what’s happening.

Oh jeez, players want to progress on ilvl too.

And I think overall that would be an overreaction, I do not expect people to quit over this as people didn’t quit over dinars even with the same kind of discussion.

delves arent fun for just grinding ilvl they were fun because mythic appearances were obtainable

the delves participation will fall off hard after this change

If this goes live blizzard will se a humongous drop in every type of content participation.

This is somewhat relatable to flying, after you “open the gates” of QoL you can’t shut it off and think people will be fine with it and will go “where you want them to go”. Blizzard is still trying to control too much of “prestige” instead of letting people just get the color and effects they want.

The M+2500 io/2400/mythic last boss of tier reward should already cover this mythic/elite gear effect. If they remove this too, then the fun of customizing sets will just make grinding anything pointless for me.
