No more myth transmog appearances from heroic upgrades in Midnight

This is cringe.

Just say you want another reason to do delves, and that chasing Mythic variations of mogs via delves is fun for you.

Anything beyond that in General Discussion is cringe.

Once again, this is the point:

Gutting out reasons to do content means that players have fewer reasons to do content. If players have fewer reasons to do content, then that will shorten the repeatability and the lifespan of that content. Since content with short lifespans is bad for the game, then decisions that shorten the lifespan of content are bad decisions.

At the end of the day, I don’t know why many of you are deviating from this simple statement. It is an objectively true statement that focuses on the health of WoW as a whole by providing content. gameplay, and reasons to participate. The argument is laid out for you.

All you need to do is lay out why you do specific content and list out the motivations that drive you to do said content. That’s it.

However, many here know that they cannot use this reasoning, because it is a double-edged sword that cuts both ways. And when applied to giving away LFR, Normal, and Heroic when a Mythic Legacy tier set is completed, then this reasoning makes it abundantly clear that this is a bad call as well.

Sure, they could apply this concept to current content, and it would act as a FOMO tool to drive people to continue doing current content. I could understand applying it there, then applying it to the next season or expansion of current content.

However, gutting out 75% of the Legacy tier sets over the past 10 - 20 years is sacrificing massive amounts of content to the people who care the least.

Developers should be looking to provide additional reasons to do content, not remove them. As an example, here is a Legacy Loot Talent Tree example of providing more reasons to do content.

The idea here is to give players a perpetual reward for participating in this world of content. So, even if players don’t get the loot they want, they are continuously developing their power with respect to Legacy content by simply participating in the content itself.

So, the currency would be Legacy boss kills. For every boss kill, you get a point toward the tree, and Blizzard would have to determine the price of each of the talents.

So, rather than simply gut the tiers sets out of Legacy content, giving them away, and thereby reducing the size of the game, this would provide incentives to do more Legacy content with permanent rewards. AKA Adding more reasons to do more content.

However, we will never get to talk about solutions or ideas to make a better game if people are talking about and demonizing individuals or entire communities within WoW. Focus on the content.

I am going to edit in another example of a potentially really bad change for a community in WoW.

Killing Battle Pet? Seriously?
This is so Wrong now

The Battle Pet community is largely upset with two things:

  1. The lack of Battle Pets in K’aresh
  2. The lack of ability to battle pets as a whole in Midnight, and battling pets to capture them. You simply capture them by throwing a trap at them now (again, this is from Alpha testing, so this action could be a placeholder and battle pet abilities may not have been added).

This is what I am talking about… people want a reason to play the game more than the prize for winning the game. So, now for an entire community in WoW has the fun of the content removed from game, and they are simply left with the pet. That is not fun. Playing the game is fun. Having a reason to play the game is fun. When this is removed, then so is the reason to play.

Again, this concern comes from Alpha testing, but even the threat of content being removed is enough for people to voice their concern.

I am sure there will be those who are for this change, but again, this is sacrificing content for those who care the least.
