I’m back on WoW after a few years away. I’d like to start a character from scratch to relearn (and learn new) talents and spells. But no matter what I choose at inception, my character is already many levels in, with specs and talents and spells already chosen and loaded though I have not learned them yet. Is there any way to start from scratch?

Huh? What? That really doesn’t happen.
There are a few races - the new Allied Races - that start at level 10. Is that what you mean? And Demon Hunters and Death Knights of any race start at level 8 or 10, IIRC.

If you create a new Human Hunter or Night Elf Warrior, it will start at level 1.
Try it and come back and report the character name and realm here if it is not working as you expect.
Thank you for the quick reply. It must be that I started with one of the allied races (or, to be exact, 5 of them). Didn’t realize that eliminated early levels. Weird. Blood Elf worked fine.

Likewise, some classes start a few levels higher than 1.
Demon Hunters and Death Knights start at 8.
I am also a returning player for maybe a few days. Start at wevel won. What? I am wevel twenty and why stay there either because I am just stupid and vove wevel twenty.
