No more increased customisation in shadowlands. [Requesting a refund]

Yep. Iirc one week apart. This is in contrast with every other blizzcon which has always boosted log in traffic. No matter what part of the expansion it is. Blizzcon anouncements are often used to incentivice people to keep playing and “prepare” for the patch/expansion. Instead less people logged in and we can’t know for sure they unsubbed but it is not only possible but likely.

You ate the steak, you played into the expansion. Sorry, no refund.
I think during a pandemic, I think they did okay, I am sorta burnt out on retail and went to play Classic for awhile. But, You and I both ate the steak - we pay for the steak. aka. expansion.

People if it was about Covid they would have said so.

They can put resources in to a new mobile game, but they are cutting the main feature for Shadowlands. It was one of their main selling, if not the main selling feature.

It’s an extremely stupid and disappointing move from Blizzard. I can only hope they will see how bad players react to this failure and change their mind.

Blizzard struggles with pride severely. Being on top, being the best for so long. I don’t know if they can accept the shame of failure.

I know beggers can’t be choosers but I wish the Draenei tail could be EVEN LONGER. I like the long tail but honestly that’s more of a medium compared to what we’ve seen in artwork.

Oh man, the leaked internal reactions to Classic and its inquiries for a dev team from the WoW devs. None of them wanted to work on it.

Honestly it’s not the biggest bother to me, bit it is still things I loved and its disappointing to think how much money Blizzard could potentially miss out on by not doing this. To the extreme end of my love for customization I would nearly faction change for it. I love everything they added to the Forsaken, especially the Elvira hair, I just wish we had an option for them to stand up straight.
The trolls look sensational and that’s a sentiment I thought I’d never hold.
Don’t get me started on how much I love the aesthetic of Nightborne even though I quite literally play a Night Elf. Like I’d faction change for them alone.

Freedom to be who you want, what you want, look how you want, means a lot to some people as a source of their identity. That’s why I feel some games do this really well in allowing you to be any race and any class. I understand there is a lore reason for this, but by enabling player agency you make a lot of money in race changes customizations race changes and everything else involved.

The art team had so much time left they could create the tree mount, but they left customization on the side.

Cutting customization for at least 2 years, if not more is so stupid. This should be a ongoing feature and would bring engagement for some players with the game (think altoholics).

No kidding.

If it was about the pandemic, don’t you think they would have hired more people for the customization options specifically? People are in need of a job in these times, and Blizzard could have helped not only their art team by having them focus on more specific projects, but the people they hire by actually giving them a job during a pandemic where people are struggling to get jobs. You can’t say it’s to save money either because as we saw in the previous year, they cut a HUGE chunk of people out of a job in a supposed “record breaking year”. We’re literally talking hiring 3-4 extra people that are dedicated to something as simple as customization options which people have proven takes no time at all to make all the fancy new hair styles and such. Even less time for textures seeing as I can do myself a custom worgen skin in a span of 10-15 minutes. Someone more experienced can crank out new textures in less than half of the time, especially something as easy as pallet swapping.

The argument of covid just doesn’t work.

Greed has no limit. :slightly_frowning_face:

They could add something like a Foundry where the players could send their work. If Blizzard give a pass on one of them, then thay could reward the player first with a credit and second with ingame content depending on the contribution: Unused mount, transmog set or mount no longer available, a certain amount of gold…

If they can’t bother to work on new customisations, they certainly can bother to assign someone to check the works on a weekly basis and put the good ones in the game.

i have a side question…i rejoiced after years and it seems gear sets are really easy to get. ie there is no sense of accomplishment. after the campaign every1 has the base gear armor/set for their covenant. before you had to clear raids and get the gear sets that way. now there is more time spent on getting different ‘tints’ of that armor? lol

Just so you know even if your refund request works it will lock you out of your character until you buy it again since you’re level 51.

Though maybe you want that so you won’t have a reason to play.

What makes this sad, is that customization is more of a art side of things on design, not bug fixing or system design. This can be done alongside any patch changes.
