Claiming Blizzard lied about customization options is simply trolling. They never promised more options during Shadowlands, only that more would come. Blame yourself for making your own assumption.
Not all promises are explicit. In fact most are not. Promises tend to be implicit. They 100% implicitly promised this. They led us on. It’s not okay.
All of us upset need to unsub. It’s the only feedback they listen too.
Okay, I’m imagining this, except instead of an epic dragon fight, I’m imagining someone being upset that they didn’t get a dopey-looking hairstyle for their race.
Content vs. cosmetics. Not really the same thing.
Yes, except with the table, it makes a lot more sense since the table actually doesn’t work since the legs are literally part of what makes something a table.
Is Shadowlands somehow busted just because you didn’t get new tattoo features on your night elf?
Why too much experience with folks like this… makes me pity them tbph.[quote=“Lore-herod, post:348, topic:878543, full:true”]

Red-shirt-guy disagrees with you. He’s a pretty good authority on what bliz or bliz hasn’t said as he knows more about the lore and universe and blizzard promises than even they do.
Well we all have different priorities. That’s why I said it that way cuz some folks prefer the dragon. I prefer the hair.
Cosmetics is a type of content even if it isn’t your preference.
Exactly.
For me? Along with all the other issues? Yes.
Tauren still have only 4 face options for females, 5 for males. This has not been increased since 2004.
They couldn’t even add a non-harelipped mouth choice for the “customization expansion”.
Vanilla-WoD: no cleft upper lip.
WoD-now: cleft upper lip.
Fixing derpmouth is a pretty low bar. Wanting my character to have an alternative to sheep/woodchuck/camel/dog/panda mouth is a pretty low bar.
Not in the way a table without legs is. If a table doesn’t have legs, it’s not usable. Shadowlands is not unplayable just because you didn’t get new customization options. If you think the game is unplayable for that very thing, then that’s your own problem, not Blizzard’s.
It might be important to you, and that’s fine, but preference or not, customization features not being implemented in future updates is not a failure on Blizzard’s part to uphold the end of their bargain when they sold you the game. You got customization features, you just won’t get anymore. It sucks, but it’s not like they outright deceived you.
Above all else, Blizzard tells you straight up before you purchase the game and a subscription that things are subject to change. Every expansion has had a list of features scrapped. In WotLK, we were promised new dances and we never got them. At one point prior to BC, some devs mentioned getting flying mounts into Eye of the Storm. It was never in the game. Farahlon was meant to be a zone in WoD but never saw the light of day.
This is not a new thing.
They said they would do it throughout the expansion. Now they say they will not. That is by definition a deception.
No it’s not. It wasn’t advertised or marketed to you. The only customization features advertised to you were the ones in the game.
Again, you agreed to this when you bought the game and subscription.
Still waiting on Dance Studio.
That is false.
So many people pushed Blizzard hard for playable high-elves for the Alliance. None of them ‘quit’ because the race wasn’t available, and while we didn’t get the playable race, we did get high elf skin and eye colours for Void Elves, which was the next best thing.
Once you quit, your feedback gets ignored, because you’re no longer playing. They’re not going to add whatever you wanted in a snap just to bring you back, they’re going to focus instead on keeping the players who are still playing happy. So they’ll listen to those players, over you.
There are only FOUR art people working on warcraft at this time… I don’t expect things will be getting better…
You’re joking right?
Actually when you unsub they ask for a reason. If enough people had the same reason they’re going to do what they can to keep from sinking.
I’ve seen ONE person who works a full time job able to do more than blizzard is willing to die on their free time.
Yeah, they ask for a reason, but they aren’t going to implement what you want after you quit, because you quit. They’ll focus on the people who are still playing. I speak to game devs on this stuff, that’s literally the mentality. Focus on the people who are playing, not the people who have quit.
Focusing only on the people already happy is a terrible way to run a game… makes me think of another game that got shut-down… oh yeah wildstar.

Show me where ESRB indicates that their rating system acocunts for anything beyond actual game content. I’m curious where you got the idea it had anything to do with perceived failings in corporate integrity or ethics.
HILARIOUS from https://www.dexerto.com/world-of-warcraft/wow-devs-explain-role-of-covenants-customization-choice-in-shadowlands-1455863/
One of the things that players have wanted in WoW for so long is better character customization options to reflect themselves. Not just that, but whatever fantastical character they want to portray. Sarah and Patrick spoke on why now was the right time to include these updates.
It was important for them to do the update right, and allow players the option of properly being able to represent themselves if that was what they wanted for the character fantasy. As to why now? Bouilan Verral said: “Shadowlands is all about player agency. It’s the core theme of the expansion.” Choices are a big part of the expansion: What Covenant did you choose? How does your character develop over Shadowlands? What Legendary are you going to make?
Choices in how you look comes into that player agency, and so they didn’t take it lightly. They wanted to be inclusive “to make everyone feel like they had a home in our game, and the sooner the better.” Seeing the reaction of fans for the current updates for customization has through posts on Reddit has also been incredibly heartwarming.
Dawson said: “Ultimately, just to do it right took a massive undertaking, and a lot of development time, and we wanted to make sure that we committed to that in Shadowlands.”
“This is just the beginning for our character customization, I’m sure there will be more hair styles and eye colors, different things that we add throughout the course of what we’re learning from what people want in the community as a result of that.”
The team are incredibly proud of and happy with the additions for players in being able to express their fantasy, with Dawson adding: “We hit the mark, there’s still more to go, but we hit the mark.”
They did NOT hit the mark. Maybe for humans and orcs… but do nightborn just not exist?
WoW’s character customization is in line with 2006~2008 games, post-update. Anyone saying that character customization in this game is good - or isn’t important - are simply wrong.
Does anyone actually believe they’re getting a refund on an xpac they’ve been playing for 3 months?
Does it count if I’ve only played 1-2 weeks?
