Frankly everyone is getting those online, even myself. It shouldn’t be a thing, indeed.
But I’m very sure not one of the fans was sending one and it’s simply a lie.
I agree on the major disappointment. It feels like they recognize it’s a vital part of updating the game but management is willing to run the development with the smallest team possible to make the largest profit possible.
They’ll probably use the customizations to pull in people for the start of the next expansion.
I personally am not going to request a refund but I think it’s a good attempt to communicate your frustration in this situation where you don’t have direct power to make change.
I mean, I don’t necessarily know if I would agree with ‘messed up’. I think that their priorities may not align with mine, but that isn’t necessarily a mistake. It is just a differing priority… and I am still pretty happy with this expansion despite that.
I also don’t think ‘messing up’ should be cause for the type of vitriol you’re giving them. I’m human, I mess up sometimes… if my workplace, my friends, or my wife gave me this type of vile rage every time I did my life would be hell.
Fortunately, my friends, my boss, and my wife are all better people than that.
This is a lie, and I hope your bank nails you for it. At the same time, way to encourage fellow unhappy people to use chargeback for something it clearly wasn’t intended for.
All over customizations, you know I call the people begging for gear entitled, but this is on a whole new level.
It’s really not, game design decisions change over time as is surely noted on the store as well as in the TOS, and tbh I can’t even remember for sure if Ion actually said there would be more customization during Shadowlands or if he said something else and people were just reading into it too much.
To be clear I’m not happy to learn that we essentially have at LEAST two years to wait for additional customization options, but that doesn’t justify a refund.
A few people have linked to the interviews… and while it is not an unreasonable interpretation of what Ion said to take from it that there would be more customization in Shadowlands, it is also not the ONLY reasonable interpretation.
One example: he said “The options at launch are not the end of what we’re planning to do” - which could be interpreted as ‘more coming after launch during Shadowlands’ or ‘we have other ideas we want to explore but we’re not prepared to commit to when this will be coming out’.
But ya, you’re basically right. He said things implying more was to come in a vague way, people interpreted it to mean DEFINITELY more content in Shadowlands, and now are upset that it isn’t happening.
Sure it’s a good attempt at ending chargebacks for everyone as a whole. Common sense exists, I think you and the person you are responding to need to get a hang of it.
I am not happy 4 months in because they didn’t add customizations that were never guaranteed, after you digitally agree to the ToS that state the game can change at any time. Makes a heck of a lot of sense to you, but to the rest of us mere mortals, we know better.
That’s not quite it. It was one yes. But they said clearly they will ad more during Shadowlands. That’s what got people even more exited.
It’s really simple. They gave no explanation for the cut.
Yes they messed up.
No, we didn’t. People listen to interviews… It was not about the pre-patch, it was about more options during Shadowlands. It was also specific about the Allied races.
They never directly said they’d add more DURING Shadowlands. They only ever said they would add more following the release of Shadowlands. This doesn’t 100% mean during Shadowlands, and absolutely can (and clearly did) mean later in a future expansion.
I honestly don’t even remember them promising more customizations but that goes to show how varied the interests of players can be. Good luck out there!
No we got them early with the Chromie prepatch so yeah we did get them. Are the toons not fleshed out more? Yeah, I hate my new NE customization so much, yet I am not demanding a refund, because lets be real, the game matters more.
This is a first world problem created by feel statements and I believe ones. Nowhere was it 100% stated otherwise.
Imagine making the selling point of your expansion being customization and covenants. Then covenants fail miserably and they immediately abandon customization. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Blizzard does not care enough nor respect its playerbase to actually stick to doing what they say. A disgusting insult and one of the last that many will accept this time. When my sub runs out, I’ll be moving on. I wont be feeding their game anymore when its clear they don’t respect the people that help to make the game possible in the first place.
