No More Elf Races

Wholeheartedly agree here.

Technically, they’re ALL trolls!

Agreed. Enough with the Elves. If you want to play a white blonde haired elf, go horde.

No more elves. No more humans.

magical mutations are a natual part of evolution in a setting where magic is possible.

Evolution is natural, and takes place over millions of years.

The Trolls, were transformed by the magic of the Well of Eternity into Night Elves. The off shoots of the Night Elves…High Elves, Nightfallen, etc, were also changed by magical means.

Their “evolution” was not natural, it was forced by the magics that surrounded them.

If magical mutations were a natural part of evolution in a setting where magic is possible, ALL races would be rapidly evolving for the simple fact that lay lines exist all through out Azeroth. Any of which has enough juice to force a mutation.

Instead, we have mutations around extreme fonts of power.

This could be a good debate topic because the Well of Eternity was essentially a giant Azeroth wound. So do we see Titans as apart of the natural order? Is it unnatural if it is sped up due to Titan tampering? Life does form without Titan meddling, see Draenor, but does a Cosmic force in the universe make the evolution unnatural?

Careful, your gonna trigger the high elf crusaders

The Trolls came up naturally. And as far as we know, they are the only natural race native to Azeroth.

Every other race on this planet was either created by the Titans, or mutated by the curse of flesh.

Every other race but the Draenei and the Trolls have had their “evolution” forced by outside means.

We’re almost all mutations.

If you think blue-eyed Blood Elves will solve the problem, then you most certainly don’t understand the issue.

Ok, sure. But then don’t cry because only Alliance players can ride the bee mount.

“If you want to ride a bee mount, go alliance”.

It’s not about High Elfs. It’s about the fact that we have more than enough Elf races as it is. People keep bringing up how Elfs are the most played races, which is true. But there is a reason for that. Players want to look good, and Elfs are pretty.

Maybe Blizzard should pretty up the other races and stop introducing furries. But the more Elf races we get, the more obsolete the other races will become.

Depending on how you look at it I guess. Blood elves clearly lead the horde but on the alliances humans are quite a bit more numerous than the night elves. And VE’s and NB’s are almost unplayed .

Void elves make up 1.8% of the alliance. Nightborne make up 1.4% of the horde. Adding new elves isn’t making anyone obsolete, the new elves in comparison are almost unplayed , people just want other races in the options. Even if you filter levels 110-120 so only people doing current content are included they only make up about 2% each. Just nearly beating out pandaren lol.

The other issue has nothing to do with aesthetic and that’s the fact that the elven racials are lowkey kinda crazy except for NB. Shadowmeld was underrated for a bit but is now getting playtime and easily one of the most valuable PvP racials in the game right now. Do we even have to go over why a BE’s AoE purge is useful? Recently they normalized most races damage meaning all races just about deal the same damage so races that have damage boosting racials like orcs and trolls kind of get shafted because through an entire engagement their damage still normals out to be around the other classes. So having an AoE purge while STILL doing the same damage as a race with a damage racial is kind of insane. Now for VE’s its not like OPOP but many casters are liking the extra TP and pushback immunity VE’s give in this current zerg meta where melee’s can just kinda run down ranged. Even if it’s not the top tier best (im not sure if it is or isn’t) its a wonderful QoL that makes playing range easily twice as fun imo. Especially for a turret class like lock.

I don’t think it’s really fair to give the night and blood elf play rate solely to aesthetic when they also have arguably the best racials in the game as well. I do however think some races while not needing to be “prettier” need upgates. For example, forsaken getting the orcish chiropractor so they can stand up again, and more customization options maybe hiding some of the bones being everywhere would be a start. I don’t think they need to be pretty but they need to be semi-relatable if that’s the right word for a player to have attachment.

Ugh please and what do you want? Brand new races nobody play with, like Goblins, Pandaren or Kul Tirans?

It’s rather comical people here really think we’ll have Furbolgs and Ethereals as playable races. It’s like you don’t know Blizzard after 15 years.

psst worgen have a higher play rate than VE’s. Actually, goblin and pandaren have higher play right than NB as well. yikes

Are people mistaking BE popularity for elf popularity? Cas the new elves really aren’t doing so hot.

I could care less about the racials. I pick races I think look good. I bet I’m not the only one.

Of course they do. They have been in game years longer. And not everyone has put in the effort to unlock the Allied Races.

I don’t want more elves unless perhaps half elves.

I could live with Highs and Vamps if and big if here: We get Murlocs, Furbolg, Naga and Orges first.

As you pointed out, you. If racials werent huge factors humans wouldn’t have dropped 14% play rate after their double trinket interaction was removed. To pretend it’s all aesthetic is just fools paradise. Especially when they are not only “good” racials, they are arguably the best…

ok? Your argument stated:

but that’s clearly not the case if they have 2% play rate. They are obsolete.

I didn’t say ALL. But a lot of it is.

You specifically brought up Void Elves. You left out Blood Elves, Night Elves and the Nightborne, which greatly increases the played percentage. You need to consider ALL the Elf races, not just the ones that support your argument.
