No, Me Not Inviting You to My Key isn't Gatekeeping

Increasing group sizes, making role agnostic dungeons and raiding possible, expanding the follower AI allowing it to tackle harder content, reducing the level of difficulty of endgame content to encourage more participation, making more solo endgame content options available that offer better progression paths. That’s just off the top of my head. Some of these are obviously harder to implement but others are really low hanging fruit and there is really no excuse not to do something.

You don’t have to be able to invite everyone to your party to escape the label of gatekeeping, and I don’t even know why you would want to because there’s not actually anything wrong with the act to begin with.

Fair and reasonable. But I don’t think that’s what people are complaining about. I think people are complaining about the normal raid listings in LFG that have ‘Link AotC or don’t bother’ when the group leader in question hasn’t even killed Ulgrax on Raid Finder difficulty. They’re free to make their group how they want, but that’s slimy.

Well, let’s see. If we want to call it a “physical” event and live in Delulu land, I can answer that. Imagine the key is a basketball, and the Mythic dungeon is the court. Everyone loves to win. However, the difference between the nice person and the elite person is how much they support someone else. Sure, you could pick Michael Jordan, but it took him missing 9000 shots to become Michael Jordan. Or you could pick Michael Scott. Sure he’s a bit nerdy, and might struggle a bit but without playing with them, how do we know how good they are?

Now, of courses there is an ilvl requirement in Mythics, but if you are picking the 606 over the 603, or even a 597, cause you think those few points make a difference, that is what makes you an elitist. Cause if the 606 bought his gear, and the 597s main just happens to be 616, I would think the guy with the lower score who has already been their would be better than some AH frequenter… like me. Although, now with Delves, my trips to the AH are less frequent.

Now that was a long way to go to answer a question that you already knew the answer to, but there it is.

Why would you say I am “trash”? What prompted that? All I’ve done is discuss the topic at hand. Yet, people like you attack me without provocation. Do you have anything of substance to add to the discussion or are you just here to make emotional posts to make yourself feel important?

THIS… right here. This is what makes someone a Dungeon snob. Someone who can guarantee success, or a carry.

So my guildies brought this i621 pub hunter instead of me and apparently they had the worst experience ever with that hunter like he was terrible and they regretted not just bringing me. So yeah high iLvl + high rating does not equal to a skilled player

It’s a first come serve, and blizz should also add a option to be able to annex a CV while the app is pending.

Hey guys I am elitist , you can’t join my group for reasons

Ok ,bye

The solution to this is to just not join these groups. Everyone is allowed to make a group with whatever requirements they want, and everyone is capable of deciding what groups they want to join.

I don’t join them. But it’s frustrating looking through group finder for a raid to join and all of the ones up require Cutting Edge to join their normal raid.

And I get it, random PUGs usually suck awfully, but there’s no way for me to show that I know the raid and the mechanics without actually getting a group that gives me a shot to go through the raid.

deciding who does or doesnt get to join is the very definition of gatekeeping though. im glad i dont partake in m+ so i dont gotta deal with this stupidity

Key keeper, meet gatemaster!

Sure.

Just also hypocritical.

This is the most disingenuous way to approach this already disingenuous topic.

Not inviting someone to your key may be literal gatekeeping from that group but it is not gatekeeping from M+ at all.

Anyone can receive a key. Anyone can list a key. Anyone can run a key.

How dare you run your key the way you want too. That is selfish and and and your a gatekeeper… Heavy sarcasm here hahaha. IKR people and their, well, personalities. Who knew.

What’s a better server or what’s a bad server

Except they aren’t limiting general access, they’re limiting specific access. You still have general access by nature of the ability to just make your own group or play with any of the other groups who will take you.

LA and BR servers have a… less than stellar reputation.

You guys are trying way too hard to change the mind of a guy who lacks the reading comprehension to understand his own linked definition.

It is not.

No action I can take can prevent someone else from getting a key and climbing the ladder. I cannot stop anyone from making a group.

do all group succeed?
no

do all groups fill fast?
no

but that doesn’t mean groups can’t be made.

the notion that person A not inviting person B to their group is some toxic gatekeepery behavior? that’s insane. because person B has the exact same access to make a group as does person A.
