Do you have a source for this?
Just scuttlebutt from the wowhead comments and my own anecdotal experience. I seem to have better luck getting rarer drops if I make sure to have no green cards in my inventory. But it could all just be confirmation bias so who knows.

Just disproved my own theory. Stayed inside the lines and wasn’t able to loot. Alas.

Yeah, that’s definitely not how it works. That’s all I do with my hunters since staying inside the circle is chaos.

I have everything but 5 of the cards for the achievement. There have been kills where I can’t loot, but I’m pretty sure it’s just no loot dropped for me. I had 10 Wildcards in my bag and you don’t always get a blue card with a kill. So I qualified for loot, just no loot dropped.
An easy solution for this confusion would to just add some gold to the boss drop. Just a couple so people don’t think the event bugged and they didn’t qualify for any loot.

Haven’t received any loot except the bag and one card for the achievement. I don’t even understand the point of the green hearthstone cards.

Get rid of all the Wildcards in your bags. Worked right away for me.
The wild cards seem to be the cause. Once you get a nice stack of them like 9 or 10, loot refuses to sparkle on the boss.
So just delete the wild cards after each run. So far been doin that and I have always gettin loot. Well jack all for loot and nothing but those stupid cards. But better than not being able to loot the boss at all.
Also, I swear that now I have collected everything. That is all I am seein is cards. The bag must be like 1 in 100 chance or something. I have seen it twice. That is all. In about 30 runs now.
Also. another thing. dont trade the stolen hearthstone cards. They get bugged and cannot be opened.

It appears that if you have a specific amount of Hearthstone Wild Card’s, That this can cause you to not receive any loot. If you delete the cards, You will receive loot as intended. At least that is how it worked for me!
You don’t really need those cards in your inventory anywho. As you only use those for the 1-time quest.
Seems like once you get everything, that’s it. Nothing but wildcards after that. I’ve been trying to get bags for alts but no dice. I really should just stop.

Yeah. At the start it actually seemed to help with loot drops having a full stack of 10. If nothing else, it was a great placebo effect. But something seems genuinely broken about the bag for some reason.
It truly does. And at the very least. The other stuff you need to see one time. Just once. Some of us are alt hoarders. And I am running out of bag space.
I’ve been switching between characters every hour and so far have actually received most of the rewards. Still haven’t received the mouse pet, which is what I wanted the most, but we’ll see. It sucks that it is only once per hour though.
I have 9 wild cards in bag, have all the achievements and only items I am missing is tabard and bag. Been trying to get bag on all my toons one by one. All I ever get is sarges and trash loot. 20+ portals… something has got to be bugged.
