You’re missing the point of some of these people being upset (myself included).
Last time Blizzard did this, in this expansion, they allowed LFR players to earn quest credit and get items from the NPC. That was fine. Absolutely no one complained about that. The only complaints about last season’s chips were that you had to kill the boss on mythic first in order to get mythic gear from the vendor. Which, at least in my opinion, was fine, but many players were upset about that.
No one cared that LFR players could get quest credit and items from the NPC.
Then this season’s chip quest came around, and Blizzard just yanked the reward away from LFR players for no reason. LFR players often do not have the time to get into entire raid runs. Which is why they do LFR, because they do a few bosses of the raid for each wing, and then they’re done.
They did the same thing back in Shadowlands with the first fated season. They arbitrarily yanked the achievement reward away from LFR players, and as a form of protest, I and many other players refused to take part in the fated season because of it. Blizzard needs to stop treating LFR players like the red-headed stepchild and just let them earn rewards like everyone else.
