I was interested in the Dragonscale Expo quest. Granted exploration is fun! I want to see how that one concludes.

I’ve done the Valdrakken one and, eh, that one wasn’t so much interesting. Also had to go through a mob infested area for it. Wasn’t a huge fan.

Oh really during the main campaign there are several cutscenes and one cinematic.

And during the dracthyr campaign there are several cutscenes and several cinematics. And to say there aren’t any cutscenes or cinematics that’s when I know you didn’t even try to take your time to understand the story.

I’m trying to think on it, and…no, the writing hasn’t always been good. Wrath’s writing was basic, TBC was basic…I daresay Cata and MoP were actually pretty decently written, and MoP remains my favorite expansion, but they were by no means masterclasses. The writing has, by and large, been mid-tier at best, it’s just been better than its contemporaries at the time. The difference is, now, WoW has competition that can give you better written and more compelling stories, and no, I’m not just talking about FFXIV.

I think people put on rose colored glasses and just harp on about how “new thing bad, old thing good” when it wasn’t even that good to begin with. Try playing Wrath and TBC nowadays and it’s very much a slog and a bore.

The main campaign is the one after you done the required story for each zone. And dracthyr story introduction quest are not part of main campaign. The effort they put into story compare to legion and even wotlk is minimal, this is most boring expansion story wise. They release a dragon as main villain, she dies in a single 8 boss raid.

You thought she was the main villain she is one out of the four primal incarnates and iridicron is the real threat.

The story being locked behind rep is laughable and one of the reasons I can’t take wow serious anymore or stay subbed.

The way some folks came after you for having an opinion. It’s just like if you dislike the FF story. How dare you favor better different writing and still play the game.

I’m about done with reading the centaur stuff and it all just feels so rushed.

I reckon this is always how WoW was, but it never tried to piece together whole stories in such a short span. It’s just rough. How can a reader feel any sort of connection without proper pacing and more content?

Love fantasy genre, lord of the rings is awesome and game of thrones is entertaining for the most part… the wow storyline for dragonflight is not comparable by any stretch. Well, I guess all 3 do use letters and numbers.

I’m going to keep doing the quests I like, and whatever comes out of that, happens. I’m not going to super-grind for it.

I agree, the story and the questing is not Dragonflights strongsuit.

I love the proffession updates, the gearing and dragonflying, but the questing/leveling/campaign experience definitely received some budget cuts.

I actually loved BFA’s story-
Let me correct myself. Up till nzoth. That was rushed and a disrpect to the character.

No bait. The beginning of BFA had so much intrigue and was chock full of potential. I was heavily invested in the story and couldn’t wait to see what was behind Sylvanas getting named Warchief and what was her ultimate endgame. BFA campaign was amazing up until Nzoth patch where the entire focus shifted, and then we got Shadowlands…

First half of BFA was legit amazing, the rest was trash. DF is better than the last two expansions, but the story leaves a lot to be desired.
