Blizzard, please realize that Mages need help in PvP. When a Frostfire Bolt with 3 sec cast time does less damage than instant Holy Shock/Aimed Shot/Star Surge/Backstab (and many more), then it does not help to put good set bonuses on PvE Gear. We need to see some substantial improvements for PvP mages that does not rely on set bonuses from PvE.
well no set bonuses fixing the problem would be fine. pve gear being good in pvp is part of classic wow. but yes mages need some buffs.
It is incosistent though. Hunter in full PvP gear hit for 2.7k Aimed Shot (instant, with damage reduction). Hunter also have 11k hp in PvP gear. Mages with PvE gear have 4-5k hp. Even if you could hit as hard then it is not helpful at all.
which means perhaps they need to look at mages stam budget on gear not like it really makes a difference in pve where you are either dead or not dead.but thats also not really the main problem. the problem is all of the mages abilities used in counterplay (frost armor, mana shield, counter spell, sheep, etc) dont fit in the SoD meta. mages simply cant get there damage throughput out fast enough or prevent the enemy from doing so.
