Brother, this ain’t Classic. Game hasn’t been this way in eons.
Because the guy I’m responding to says stuff like “every class shouldn’t need a healer” so basically just homogenize everything.
It’s definitely less that way of late. Still it exists. Some classes are better solo than others. Some are better at 2s than others. Some are better at 3s or rbgs. It’s actually part of the fun of this game.

It could be that the homogenization creep has been slower than I remember. It’s just that the last time I do remember my character being truly unique was my original warlock main in TBC. You needed a lock for certain things. The paladin you’re looking at now was just an alt that couldn’t get into anything.
It seems like from Wrath onwards things have become gradually homogenized in the sense that the differences between classes aren’t so defining.

That was “Bring the player, not the class” philosophy.
Basically they didn’t want to have situations where you were forced to bring a specific class for a specific raid/dungeon mechanic.
Rather than gimp themselves of being able to make interesting raid mechanics, they decided to give additional classes/specs more abilities to deal with them.

To OP. Your idea will never happen BUT if you take a look at all the pruning they’ll do next expansion, it might be the case that healers will actually have to cast again like they did before DF, that could “solve” many of the issues that arise when there’s no dampening.
