Kinda strange, given how Green Dragonflight is kinda responsible for safeguarding the Dream and druids inside.
Further proof that the whole all races having all classes thing was backtracked on after Warlocks for all, Iâm so glad Iâm not a Paladin, Druid or Shaman player because they will always be limited race wise.
Lame, their healing abilities literally use the Emerald Dream.
Why are people trying to force Dracthyr to the front for new classes so hard?
The race has a tremendous amount of customization and looks to be getting spoiled even more if they open it to just the basic all-race classes.
Why should Dracthyr be at the front of the line for classes like druid, shaman, and paladin when others have been waiting forever?
Yeah once that happened it became a lot harder to care- and I was pretty adamantly against it. I wonât be thrilled if they add it but if they do I might be able to be a Vulpera druid or Paladin and that is a gain.
Also THIS. Please blizzard the ânormalâ druid races are so big.
Easy answer with the racials how they are currently theyâd be BIS for every class they get if the racials arenât changed from what they are currently.
This thread does not appear to be created to persuade the creators to make Drakthyr Druids but to complain and not provide ideas of how they could fully indoctrinate them into the lore. Yes, there are green dragonflight drakthyr and they were not the only race bestowed powers by the green dragonflight. My lore may be a bit a rusty but the green dragonflight did not bring about druidism within World of Warcraft, Cenarius âThe Patron of Druidsâ did. I see no ties to drakthyr and Druids as you have exclaimed.
Mechagnomes can side step that, as their forms would be augments changing combat mode.
That makes it even more plausible a Mechagnome would analyze combat styles, see the versatility and survivability of druids and go about making parts that could emulate the forms.
Along with the normal needed assets they have an additional issue, either the current barbershop options need to be disabled or have an alternative texture/model that is more mechanical. So the writing team gets an easy job but the art team would be ready to strangle those who suggested it, but please just let me play a gnome transformer ![]()
Iâm truly scratching my head at that interview⌠The race infused with emerald dream magic cannot druid.
This would make folks absolutely livid. Like, actually would cause a massive forum complaint. Druids get full custom forms, this has been established since Vanilla. They donât get hand-me-downs. Sure, like Zandys and KTs their assets may be used in the world later, but they were made for them first
It isnât the programming part. The programming part is flicking the box that says âIs this class available for this raceâ from âNoâ to âYesâ. its the art side because the art team is probably focused on patch content for TWW at the moment
Thereâs a reason the missing classes for them are the ones thatâd need art assets.
LOL as if there if dracs in particular have ANY lore justification for being anything other than evokersâŚand especially martial classes at that.
Freaking classes arenât just something one spends 5 minutes pondering and becomes and even worse are dracs being LITERALLY created in a test tube where each DNA strand was built to be literally only 1 thing. It doesnât matter if other lesser dragon sorts use armor and wield weapons, evokers are literally stated to be made from different stuff and daddy Neltharion did not make them martials or give them big hulking bodies.
Dragons also have a pride and culture thing and debasing themselves to be like us and use âclassesâ instead of their own dragon essence is also another nigh blasphemous notion.
It could almost work with them gaining the purely magical classes in mage and priest (not warlock since, again, they arenât about making pacts with demons for powers as they have their own draconic heritage literally in their veins).
Plus it also seems like only preservation even cares about the green side of things. Dev uses blue and red primarily and aug uses bronze and black primarily. Outside essence blossom or w/e itâs called, I canât even think of a noteworthy spell either even taps into. Iâm not too miffed they arenât qualified enough to be druids.
I donât even know if itâs been resolved or determined if dracs can even breed that at least quasi justifies their offspring growing up in a culture where embarking on a class path is at least a thing (ignoring the 2 decades or so of implied studying and training those whelps would still have to go through). Otherwise itâs going to be âinterestingâ to see how Blizzard resolves the lore side of things where you go from being a bred drac evoker who got stuck in stasis and awoken as your creche was literally crumbling apart around you (and already fully training with your evoker powers) to suddenly being someone who âgrew upâ and trained as a warrior or whatever.
So, two things.

First of all, itâs Ion, the man who said there would be no Zandalari Dino Druid forms because it wouldnât make sense with the Lore, and then literally three days later, Zandalari Dino Druid forms got datamined.

Druid animations have already been datamined for the Dracthyr, so it seems clear the Devs intend to make the class available to Dracthyr at some point. Considering Druids are asset heavy due to forms, my guess is Dracthyr will get druids around the same time all races get druids.

It makes more sense for them to be druids than it does a light user so if they get priests and pallys thats some bull
Ysera is literally the adopted mother of Cenarius and taught him everything about the dream and druidism my guy. This isnât the swerve you thought it was.
Theramus: A notable green dragon druid that players encounter during a questline in the Ohnâahran Plains.
It makes zero sense for them to be druids.
Also, using magic from the emerald dream doesnât automatically make it possible for someone to be a druid in the same way using light based magic doesnât automatically make someone a Paladin.
If you legit think this is about models and Blizzard not wanting to make them, youâre a fool, because Blizzard has dropped plenty of Druid forms on us over the years, including a significant number of them during the Emerald Dream patch of Dragonflight. So if they wanted to make new models for Druids they could. Quite easily in fact. But theyâre not because story wise it doesnât make sense.
You need to live with that. If youâre that desperate to play an MMO where all races can access all classes, then there are a bunch of others on the market you can play. WoW is not one of them.
Edit: And I just realised this is a year old Necro post. For shame Vanitha. Bad necromancer!
You waited 14 months to post this reply? Weâve moved on.
Well it makes sense.
They use dream magic, but they ainât disciples of Cenarius. They exhibit their relationship to the Dragonflights in a much more direct elemental way.
I hate it when I go and check the forums in the AM and havenât had all my coffee yet, and then I see something and like a few things in it without paying attention to the date, and then I scroll down and Iâm likeâŚstupid necro.
Also, KT paladins need to happen.
Iâm gonna go finish my coffee.
Great. They donât make sense as druids.
