No Deal (SL PvP Gearing)

The video is boring as all heck as well. I believe he is complaining that it takes too long to get the honor to buy the gear but once they get pvp gear that is it for them so they shouldn’t be looking to do it in one week.

It is like me just wanting to do world quests and wanting to get the mythic plus 7 equivalent in one week, just not going to happen.

Yeah, no this is bad. PvP should be a system by itself. What were they thinking? At least they’re finally listening to us. They still have time to read these feedback and change it.

how is it not a system by itself? to earn the pvp gear all you have to do is pvp is that not the case?

It’s tied with the renown system. To get to 185 gear level to 197, you need renown level 22 which takes up to seven weeks. That’s what I mean when I say they’re tying it to another system.

They tried this with PvP gear, various iterations of it.

It failed. Same story with templates in PvP.

There’s a very vocal, but also exceedingly small portion of the pvp community that wanted those things.

The majority of people in PvP are actually pve players who do some battlegrounds now and then. Players who just stop playing battlegrounds if their gear is effectively trash/worthless in PvP.

It’s not that hard to change it back to where people loved it, I don’t see why they needed to change it after Pandaria or WoD. We need to force another change and we still have the time.

The only way they will change is if lots of people leave. WoD flying proves this, though it did end with a half measure.

Shadowlands has to be the most anti-hype expansion of all time. The more I hear, the less hyped I am for it. At least WoD and BFA had awesome cinematics, this doesn’t even have THAT.

Yes. They solved the problem a long time ago. Only to reinvent the problem they need to solve.

I agree with you. But wasn’t the complaint about the WoD system that the scaling was only in instanced PvP and not World PvP?

Wod PvP gear scaled up in any sort of PvP environment, as well as World PvP.

190 ilvl honor gear is unlocked after reaching renown 21+, which at the moment will take over 8 weeks. You also need to grind the huge amount of honor required for every single gear upgrade which multiplies everytime you upgrade.

Don’t know where your getting this achievement unlock source at, but at the moment that is not the case.

Honestly from this post, you seem massively uninformed about the issues that PvPers had with BFA gearing.

Grinding PvE/Raiding is mandatory to be competitive in PvP in BFA, which is what we don’t want. It should be optional, just like PvP is optional

Blizzard really dances around trying to fit PvE and PvP gear together. I don’t think it will ever work in PvP favor. They try to treat random BGs as a sort of LFR for PvP, but that doesn’t work like that, because in PvP the enemies actually get stronger as the time passes. So random BGs are more like a fluid difficulty raid that starts at LFR difficulty, but slowly progresses to heroic as the time goes.

So naturally their past solution was to just scrap the progressive gear system in PvP, and have one honor and then conquest set that everyone can grind out, which I thought worked quite well, because it preserved the gear progression in an RPG game, but gave that progression a common cap for a fairer balance.

All current drawbacks are because of their stubbornness to mix PvE and PvP gear which just hurts PvP.

Its literally the name of the achievement on WoWhead.

And i’m looking directly at the items on the beta servers.

Again, this is about Honor gear. Not the conquest gear

I’ve read that once you’ve earned that achievement and from what I understand, you’ll be able to buy the 160 conquest gear and upgrade that 6 times.

Once you get to ilvl 190, then you’d have to start doing rated PVP to get better gear. Which makes sense. The more difficult the bracket the better the rewards.

I think 233 is currently the highest gear drops in shadowlands so far but those raids won’t be unlocked right off the bat so if people really tried, they could theoretically keep up with others.

People get carried in every aspect of this game and get gear for it.

With how rampant carrying is, this isn’t an issue at all.

Conquest gear is limited by the amount of CQ you can earn in a week. Getting fully CQ gear is something that will take months.

You still aren’t understanding the issue. Honor gear, the gear that you get before conquest gear is time-gated, has unrealistic set goals meant to be almost impossible for an average player, and everyone will just gear up through Mythic+ and raids instead of battlegrounds because it’s a way more efficient and realistic use of time

Proof that this will be the case? I sometimes managed to earn up to 3k conquest a week if I did things right.

From what I remember, even when they had a PVP vendor and you were doing unrated battlegrounds, you could still get conquest gear but that took you forever to get enough conquest

Clickbait BS drama mongering… I’m shocked.

I look at it the same way I look at how they gave classes back shared abilities so that SL would be more class then spec focused

Give the classes abilities they can share but ones you know not all specs will use so you can go . “Well not every spec used them so I guess we were right to focus on only specs”

As for PvP gear “Well we brought back a way to get pvp gear but more people geared up via pve to do pvp then doing it via pvp”

Blizz has a habit of doing this where they say “We hear you and we are going to give you what you want” but they do it in a way that you end up not doing it in the way they say they are going to give it to you because they give it in a broken state so that you don’t choose to do it that way .

As a hunter this even goes back to the we’ll give some of the old rsurv abilities as talents for those changing to mm. They gave them alright in name only and none were really used. Maybe a exp shot here and there . Heck B.A a good pre Legion Dot was not really taken in Legion.
