It doesnt change performance on the user end. It allows for lower populated servers to shard together, that would otherwise be empty.
In the current platform it allows say the horde dominated faction to shard into alliance players when warmode is turned on.
Otherwise depending on the realm they could play for hours and see very little to no alliance players.
Arguably the same thing coukd happen if a population dumps out on a classic server and it ends up being dominated by 1 faction.
Asmongold will probably make a video saying āclassic will be cancelledā and all his fanboys will run to the forums crying. Be prepared.

No no they dont. Sharding may occur with higher populations. Its the same thing as CRZ with low populations. They do the same thing to manage populations of users in area of play.
I donāt think it will get cancelled. It is interesting to hear that about releases, though. While, theyāve definitely been wrong before, itās always interesting to hear what that side thinks in terms of how popular a product will be. And it seems like they donāt think Classic is going to be super popular.

There isnt a real reason to post that plans have stand what they were previously. Its status quo. There would only be an announcement if there was a changeā¦
From the earnings call people heard āno major releaseā and the Classic guys consider WoW Classic to be a major release because it is major to them.
To Blizzard it is a project that is basically in maintenance mode as they sit back and collect sub money from it lol
But its not a major release. Same with Warcraft 3 remastered, which is more upfront money for them. Remasters are not on the list. Classic is only considered a major release to those that want to do classic.

It isnāt a major releaseā¦ WC3 is also planned to release this year and they have that release down to the day. Itās not a major release itās bringing back an old game. Something like overwatch when it released is a major release.
They have said multiple times that this should just be considered a passion project. This is similar to nintendo releasing their old systems again, itās not a major release like a new zelda game it is just for fun that could bring in a couple bucks.
