No changes was never on the table

No more changes.

There was a lot of outrage over layering. I think it just became pretty clear that Blizzard’s approach is going to be to just go ahead and wait it out until phase 2 when it’s gone.

and no changes wasn’t about trying to get a pixel perfect recreation of the game. It’s about attempting to mitigate any and all changes as much as can possibly be mitigated.

Anybody with sense knew we weren’t getting a pixel perfect recreation, even if they didn’t have layering and right click reporting.

That’s why all the ā€œno changes failed because it’s not perfect, so let’s make more changesā€ arguments are all terrible. Layering doesn’t mean we should suddenly be talking about guild banks and class balance.

As for cross-realm BGs, that was part of Vanilla so it’s not a change even if it wasn’t a super popular idea.

There have been a great many small changes. What, you didn’t notice certain drop rates being nerfed?

Does nobody read the hotfixes? Surely there shouldn’t be any, but there’s loads of them. Not a peep.

I wasn’t playing the game back in classic, but it seems a little odd to me that the appearance of the interface panel in retail and in classic is identcal, yet everyone insists there have been no changes.

And yet people fixate on trivialities, as though having to open your bags one by one instead of all opening when you type ā€˜b’ somehow makes the game more hardcore.

Yeah there have never been any threads here complaining about layering.

I noticed while flying the other day that there’s the request stop button. I remember even in LK having to log out mid flight and back on to have the bird stop before the destination you selected. It’s far from breaking immersion for me. I haven’t had the need to use it even in retail in years. But if I accidentally spend precious extra silver by clicking Booty Bay instead of Redridge I’m going to Booty Bay! Little bit of fishing and I’ll have that silver back in no time… I hope.
