Seriously bamber? How is 1.7 not authentic vanilla?
Did it happen during vanilla? Yes. Then it’s authentic.
That’s actually what blizzard was referring to during interviews last year. Pre or post nerf av?
Both were vanilla.

I never said 1.7 is not authentic vanilla I said its not authentic 1.12 (classic is 1.12 not all of vanilla)
1.1-1.11 are not classic…classic is 1.12 and some changes anything that is not 1.12 falls in the some changes part.
If you’re using Classic to mean something that’s not out yet when arguing with people who are using it the way you use “Vanilla,” 1) that’s needlessly confusing, 2) obviously the game that will come out in summer of 2019 can’t be “the game that comes out in Summer 2019 and some changes” because that would be oxymoronic recursion.
What I’m getting from what you’re saying, is that when you say “Classic” it means “the specific patch version you want.”
Very well. Anything that wasn’t in patch 1.12 is a change from “the specific patch version Bamber wants.”
That is not actually a reason why it’s bad, or a reason why it’s “not Classic” by any definition of Classic except “Classic=patch 1.12,” which is only your definition.
Classic is 1.13, which includes whatever blizzard deems to put in it.
even with some changes classic wow will still be leagues better then this bfa trash of an expansion we have.
So basically no fun, got it. You want classic to fail
Classic isn’t even playable as far as I’m concerned unless they make a ton of changes. Most importantly fixing/balancing classes
If classic failing means that retail players do not get to influence it’s changes and causes them to go back to BFA, that would be a good outcome.
There it is.
Please stay in BFA where you’ll be happier.
then clearly you aren’t the classic target audience. and that’s fine. classic doesn’t have to cater to everyone. if you want a ton of changes, there is a game for you.
Blizzard has already stated that if you want balance changes to go play BFA.
To quote Ion Hazzikostas at BlizzCon 2018, the Design Philosophy is to deliver an authentic experience of playing WoW in 2006.
The focus of Classic WoW is: Community > Convenience.
When it comes to authenticity…it’s also about the community - it’s about the social dynamics that are part of what defined wow classic…anything that might threaten that undermines those dynamics is something we need to be very suspect about and, again, use authenticity as our guide - even if it might seem minor at a glace, those small changes could have large ripple effect that could change the way players related to the world and to each other.

This project is not about starting with Patch 1.12 and then asking for a bunch of changes. It is about restoring the authentic experience of World of Warcraft that was in 2006.
If you don’t want that, then play current WoW. It has 12+ years of all the changes and conveniences that people have ever wanted.
Yes, we want Classic to fail to become BFA 2.0, thus remaining a fun game like it was the first time.
It is obviously objectively wrong that it isn’t playable; people played it for years the first time.
It may well be unplayable for you. So: Don’t play it.
Whiskee do you want classic wow or World of Warcraft 2? Honest question. It seems like you would rather they release a completely new game that takes what worked from all the different iterations over the last 14 years. That’s not what this project is. If you want a brand new different game ask bliz for that and stop trying to hijack what this is and make it what you want.
Yea, I mean if Blizzard are doing Vanilla servers, just let them do it as it was. What’s the point in modifying to be more similar to the live servers. It’s a different experience.
The only thing I would want is like a classic expansion every 2 years so the game gets content and doesn’t die out.
Only content that the majority of players approve on.
