Will mythic raiding essentially become old heroic raiding with the new design philosophy?
The stated intent is for the raid difficulty to not change. Whether or not that will happen is to be seen.
Raiding will be even better without combat addons telling you what to do.
Now for the people who suck at visual or sound que, are going to die more often.
Why would the difficulty need to be lowered? Players will adapt to the lack of addons.
Nah, not really. The general fight design has already moved to a place where weakauras don’t provide much more than QoL stuff.
I expect we’ll have less fights that rely on instantaneous and accurate assignment of mechanics, but Blizzard can already design a “hard” fight where weakauras don’t really contribute that much.
Difficulty doesn’t exist in a vacuum. If the tools are removed, but the mechanics that made those tools necessary are also removed, then the difficulty is actually the same.
I’d say you’ll see less mechanics that give you 2-3 seconds of problem solving or the raid wipes.
However, Mythic Dimensius was pretty dang hard and didn’t require any addon help for the mechanics, so I wouldn’t expect raid difficulty to shift a whole lot.
Hahahaha.
Dead raid scene.
That’s why difficulty settings exist.
Play on the ones you can complete.
It shouldn’t too much while it might be easier to tune/nerf when you don’t have to account for addons.
We’ll see where it lands ![]()
Without DBM saying “FRONTAL”, you’ll actually have to dodge the giant boss hand coming up for a slam. I’m sure plenty of people will find this difficult.
Honestly… a lot of “ modern” wow difficulty comes down to poorly designed mechanics that could of been fixed easily. Let’s take… broodtwister I know it’s a older example now but works been busy sue me.
If they simply painted the eggs different colors and had each player dyed that color with the debuff to break them. You would have virtually the same fight barring a lot of annoying wipes due to comms or setting a wa up.
Disability gets to be a difficulty setting.
Bye bye to the inclusion addons gave us…
I mean if Ard says that raiding is gunna die, you can pretty confidentally bet that Midnight will be the best expansion for raiding.
If you’re cutting edge now, you’ll be cutting edge. If you’re curve now, you’ll be curve.
If you’re lfr now, lord help you. ![]()
Pretty much this, If you’ve been progressing and getting AOTC or CE then your still going to get it albeit with a bit of an adjustment. If you haven’t been doing it or your new well… ![]()
It does not speak for a playerbase if the removal of addons hinders them from playing the game.
The only raid addon I ever used was CT Raid, simply because the Blizzard UI did not let us assign MT´s and stuff.
WOW offers LFR, a mode you can just afk in a corner and still beat the boss, normal and heroic are not much harder with just some more damage and maybe a new ability to memorize and if someone is raiding mythic content, then he shouldn´t even care, as that is where the big boys play and they don´t need someone holding their hand.
You’re assuming these people are playing Mythics for anything more than the gear.
That’s likely why there’s all this pushback on the forums tbh.
People who are only able to do Mythics because of the addons and if they don’t have the game telling them when to interrupt, when to move out of the bad, when to slow their DPS, they just won’t be able to do the content.
