No 8.3.5, No account-wide essences - according to Ion

Ahh.

So multiple paragraphs to say a sentence or two:
If you have the skills and time and are with others with the same skills and time, you can achieve the best things in game.

Ok. Got it. :sunglasses:

Edit: Have limited skills and time so just going to do what I always do. Have fun.

Nah, patch 9.0.1 or something like that will be the pre-patch of shadowlands.

The very first patch of an expansion is always the pre-patch, where global systems and UI changes happen regardless if you brought the expansion or not. Alongside an event or something that leads into the main narrative.

One long drought? what? this is actually likely to be one of the shortest droughts.
Most end expansions had 10 months to 14 months of no new content between the final patch and the prepatch for the next expansion.
8.3 is releasing 5 months after legion’s final patch, and with that will have even less of a drought.

BFA has the possibility to have one of the shortest end of expansion droughts if shadowlands releases august this year.

It seems to me they are not as nimble as they used to be. With WoD they were able to quickly put out Legion beta when they abandoned WoD. But with BFA it feels dragged out and shadowlands beta has yet to arrive. Shadowlands beta if it arrives in Feb/March is cool with me. Shadowlands beta any time later than that and it becomes worrisome.

that would be a short beta. kinda what got us in the current expansion. if we got SL in August, beta testing would have had to have started yesterday.

would prefer a November release honestly.

Pretty sure he said that mythic raids take the most skill, and can be beaten in a week, giving the best rewards. Other rewards (like essences) require no skill, so to get them you have to put some time in.

Want it? Earn it.

When did he say no 8.3.5?

uhh what?
you know legion had the same schedule right?

legion came out 2016 august
its beta didnt go live TILL MAY.

so no, that would not be a short beta, it would be a pretty average beta.

IDK if you know, but betas dont last an entire year, they last maybe 2-3 months.

“If we get shadowlands in august we woulda have to had beta like yesterday”
Legion didnt, if we go by legion, and well MOST expansions beta schedule, Shadowlands beta doesent need to start for another 4 months…

please do research.

I honestly didn’t think it was possible to not have an 8.3.5

I can’t believe it.

Highly doubtful, the store page does say “on or before December 31, 2020”. The BfA pre-purchase page said “on or before September 21, 2018”, so they’re expecting Shadowlands to come out later in the year. They’ve also shown with Warcraft 3: Reforged that they’re willing to sail past their expected date if they really feel the need to.

pretty much they are going to drag 8.3 on as long as they can before prepatch.

Gurgthock-Mal’Ganis, Ion’s main toon, doesn’t have a single essence that resto sham uses in raid. No Vision, Tide, Lucid, Strife, etc. He’s friendly with Mechagon, meaning he hasn’t even done the intro questline. He’s not even exalted with the base BFA reps like Voldunai meaning he doesn’t do his emissary boxes. That’s the guy making these types of decisions on whether you should be forced to farm.

I am interested why you felt this way. Based on how I saw patch 8.3 pushed back I knew it was a possibility it would be scrapped as shadowlands beta is around the corner.

But I do understand because Blizz did not give the impression they would pull a WoD on BFA but I guess they kind of have lol.

BFA originally said december 31st 2018, but as the date came closer they lowered it. Shadowlands is still atleast 7 months out, so that date will be refined later.

also after warcrafts delay they are being much more careful with that kinda stuff, surprised they didnt just say before december 2021 just to be safe.

Oof. Feels bad.
Though i guess we could get the last allied race duo with 9.0.
I guess we’ll see as the 9.0 beta starts to show up on the PTR.

This is it.

Most of us here knew BFA was practically DoA… but I didn’t think they’d actually go through with pulling the plug on it.

Guess I was wrong

I am concerned that if they don’t push out shadowlands beta soon that the frustration of patch 8.3.5 being scrapped will build with the playerbase in general. Time will tell I guess.

I just hope we can get Corruption Resistance up high enough where PvP will become a chaotic mess of Corruption procs and death.

At this point I’m looking for the fun end of expansion memes more so than balance. Tier 3 infinity stars all gear here I come… I just hope I kill you before my gear kills me

Maybe cause since he has a high stress job he doesent have the time to play as much anymore?

IDK if you know, but when you go to work, and you work on something all day and get nothing but people bad mouthing you and how bad you are. You dont go home and then say “I wanna do more of that”

Many people who work at blizz dont play wow at home because of that, Lore doesent play it on stream specificly because of that, he deals with wow and its players all day while at work, so last thing he wants to do when he gets home is do that on stream aswell.
Alot of them still play here and there, but when your hobby becomes your job, your less likely to do the hobby, as a hobby.
