Ninja looting VS reserve

It really depends. Like, if someone say a paladin or warrior insists on DPSing and wanting to roll on an item that someone else is respecc’ing (pre-dual spec) to tank a group so they can farm it, then I think that you could do the same.

If it’s a rogue or hunter, I can understand, but unless you’re going to stick with the tank that’s farming it until they get it, then take the next train, imo.

ninja looting VS reserve*

this is the whole subject

I’m old school, so Ninja Looting literally can only ever happen if someone master loots an item to themselves. It’s not rolling need on an item that they can use. Though, of course it sucks if you agree on who is going to roll on what and someone rolls need when they shouldn’t.

Oh, I guess this wasn’t clear. I meant, you could respec, tank and reserve the item.

and also this:

Res is a fair shot.

You are given a fair shot on all non res items. You are agreeing to give up on that one item in order to have a group NOW. IF you don’t want to do that you wait for the next group.

This IS you getting a fair shot as you are given full details in advance to make the correct call. Scamming (ninja) removes this fair shot from you as you lack the details to make the correct call. There is a massive diff.

HR runs are usually trash.

GDKP is by far the best pug loot method.

so you agree that ninja looting and reserve both affect your game time and enjoyment.
if youre not happy to get ninja looted find a new group.
sounds logical. now riddle me this

if ninja looting is the action of intentionnaly looting an item for/to someone
and
reserving is the action of intentionnaly looting an item for//to someone
where is the line drawn?

yes, For example shard in MGT its constantly HR. I myself to this day sell a run dailly where I will make a group with 3 dks and a healer me tanking with shard HR sold to highest bidder on drop 1k min. me and healer spilt the pool between us if it drops. Group fills instantly dailly.

I see that one a TON on my server. Usually reserve and offers to pay xxx to group if it actually drops.

Not one person said both dint effect your game time and enjoyment that is NOT the subject of this thread.

The subject is if res is ninja looting it is not. res is not anywhere close to ninja looting.

Res is a AGREEMENT made in advance.

Yes, if every group reserves an item can make it quite annoying for a dps that needs that item to find a group this means exactly NOTHING thou to if it is ninjaing, or even if it can be compared to it.

That dps having more issues finding a group with the terms he wants is HIS PROBLEM. He can make his own group and take the time to get people to join with his rules which can includes a res if he wants. His not being able to get help means he needs to get help from guild or friends that is his issue. If every group has a res thats 100% fine. If there filling obv people are ok with it. If there not filling the group leader will need to change his ways or lose group members to other groups.

In the end this thread is about is res being ninja looting or not, which it is not. Or if there comparable which they also are not. There entirely different things that are night and day different. Do stay on topic.

The line is VARY clear. A scam (ninja) is when players are tricked or deceived to a result. Reserves are NOT you have full knowledge in advance to make the call. This line has been defined without question by blizzard via there scam rules.

Um the word was used correctly. Its meaning: 1. having a right to certain benefits or privileges. They as the raid leader have the right to reserve that piece of loot because its their raid.

Used correctly mabye but it also gives the people with the int of the type your agrueing vs something they think they can stand on.

No point giving them ammo after we have already earlier in the thread addressed that point of its not the group leader being entitled to anything they are only getting what was agreed on.

The vary people you are agrueing vs take “entitlement” as meaning something bad. Its not a good word to use vs that type. This is exactly what happened a little ago.

I’ll use whatever words I like.

And ill fill the hole before the low int people we are agrueing vs jump on it. Like I did.

best way to get a decent pug?
keep tab, check who youre raiding with, see who does good in your pug raids and heroics.
also the more successfull your raids will be the more reputation towards the player base you will have.
old story, from 2008, we had 3 raid teams for each period of the day, morning noon evening night. each raid leaders had a name for themselves because they didnt ninja anything or “used different words to say the same thing”. they pulled up called the raid gathered the usefull member and added random pugs to the raid to fill the missing spots killed everything rolled ms>os with limitation to allow players to get a shot at everything. they never had issues and it was fun. their reward was knowing that when they showed up for example: u25hm they wouldnt have to make it a gdkp or ninja loot shyte to make it happen. it was happening at the second the advertisement was up. having a name for yourself while being 100% fair play with the server had way more importance then having the bis once and carrying the rep of ninja looting

We did for certain patterns, but that was the whole reason we were blitzing the place. Never had a complaint from any of the random levelers getting quick quest completion or funneled blues lol.

Same with kara. Stupid scope hated me, so any time we brought a random we reserved it. Everything else was fair game.

Gear comes and goes… professions are forever!

Edit to add: Everything was clearly stated prior to sending an invite.

Ninja looting is kind of funny imo cuz it creates drama
if crossrealm rdf is added i will 100% ninja stuff and just shard it later in town lmao

Makes sense.

Atleast your true colors are out now.

So… My take is that the group/Raid leader gets to call all shots on loots…

So you must choose good leaders…

To select a bad leader and get treated poorly only means you chose poorly as well. They formed the group/Raid. You allowed them to take you…
