this is extremely similiar to the Silithus AQ event quests. Did that not belong in classic either?

I donât know why people donât realize how different (in a wrong way) incursions are.
The devs explicitly compared this to the quests in Silithus, but Silithus has a town, with guards, and a few quest givers that are invulnerable that canât be griefed.
The incursion quest giver canât be killed directly but with no guards itâs just as griefable as the first few hours of the Scarab Lord questline back in 2019. Which is to say most people on the server canât interact with it at all.

Nightmare Incursions have been the single worst experience Iâve had in SoD.
Phase 1 was phenomenal. A lot of exploring, a lot of discovery, the promise of fun levelling raids, alternative spells and fun changes. All was great.
Then Phase 2 came along. Spamming dungeons was vastly better exp/hour than anything else and since raids were available from day 1, if you were interested in the discovery of experiencing the very first raid with your group you were forced to spam dungeons. So all the discovery went out the window. You had to either pick discovering the world or discovering the raid while everyone else was also fresh. So spamming SM over and over put a damp cloth on my experience, but at least itâs still a dungeon, instanced, people followed regular dungeon practices and so it still felt like WoW. Worse WoW than phase 1, no discovery until after first raid, so at least after week 1 things were ok.
Then Phase 3 begins. Incursions are absolutely superior to all else in terms of EXP/Hour and to boot, no limit. So you loop. If a friend is hit, they left them behind, exp is the almighty overlord here. You just go, and then you go, and you go a little bit more. What for? Who knows, you gotta that tag or you get no EXP. So just rush. And donât stop rushing. When you feel dizzy, keep rushing. Nightmare incursions are what game developers should make to encourage and breed ADHD in the population little by little.
It doesnât even feel like WoW, itâs like an out of control freight train where you just follow the one overeager exp seeker and keep doing that until youâre 50.

Can we make the Ashenvale incursion level restricted to 49 and under??? For LoneWolf horde we are being non-stop camped by lvl 50âs who have decided to farm us for honor all day every day. There is the same rogue thatâs been here the whole last week just farming people as they enter/leave the portal. Now thereâs a player running laps killing us. Itâs MISERABLE.
I raid logged the first 2 phases for the most partâŠI was logging in everyday grinding incursions and it was fun group content that was repeatable. Nerfing them just makes me go back to raid logging.

how on earth can we do incursion if we have lvl 50 of the opposite faction camping the entrance? 5 min res timer after trying to complete these quests and I cant do the content? sure i rolled on a pvp server but this doesnât seem thought out.
Nothing with SoD has been thought out. Aggrend is HORRIBLE at his job and not just should be fired, but NEEDS TO BE FIRED for the sake of the game. The guy is an utter imbecile who has a history of being totally clueless about MMO gameplay because he personally sucks so badly at them. Heâs one of the main driving factors creating content no one wants.
Nightmare Incursions are a massive failure. They completely ruined the classic leveling experience. Most of the leveling zones from 40-50 were made obsolete. There is no reason to leave Nightmare Incursions when their quests give ridiculous amounts of gold and experience and can be repeated ad infinitum.
The group meta that has developed around Nightmare Incursions is horrid. The mechanics for receiving quests and sharing them via deputizing is so poorly designed that most groups require you to have specific add-ons to participate. Each Nightmare Incursion has 18 quests but your quest log can only hold 20 which means there is no reason to hold quests for anywhere else. The devolution of questing to âno kill loopsâ is absurdly dull and still exists despite the reduction of gold rewards.
The quests in Nightmare Incursions are unbelievably stale. There is absolute no story to any of them. Itâs all busy work where the Emerald Wardens keep the player in the dark about anything that is happening.
How are you going to fix the 1 to 6 server ratio factions in incursions with WPVP? No fun allowed if you try to make an alt since the 20M raid logout a week is just super fun.
So much for SoDâs âforced faction balanceâ. I guess that was false advertisement.
Now I stand between the choice to beg players to invite me into one of the lucky few horde layers, or struggle through conventional world leveling while I get ganked non-stop by the thousands of lvl 50 ally players who only become more prevalent as they have access to a much faster leveling method.
Whoever came up with the idea for these incursions needs to be fired. It just took me an hour and a half to finish one mission for the last 30 rep I needed to get my rune. Over an hour of that was spent in 2 minute rez timers and getting spawn farmed for HKs. Then, after I finished it (FINALLY) I went to turn in at the quest giver, and there was a lowbie priest exploiting with Homunculi and getting the guards to attack people who were doing nothing but standing there. Then /flexing about it. This isnât PvP. Iâm not quite sure what this is. It is insanely unbalanced and exploitable. I play Classic for the nostalgia and familiarity, and this absolutely AINâT IT. And ignoring these quite obvious issues arenât helping. I have been impressed about the improvement Blizzard has made with WoW on so many levels lately, so this is highly disappointing. Swallow your pride & do better!!
Same thing on Living flame. Usually its about 20-30 50s either all camping the portal so you die when you come in or they are roaming the route with 10+ 50s killing everyone⊠Its some solid PVE contentâŠ
