Defenders of Azeroth, not the Alliance.
Unfortunately, this dialog was not understood well by the players, as the talk between Tyrande and Thalyssra happens way before the Suramar’s liberation. Sometime, when the Kaldorei resitance comes to the gates of the Suramar.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: Arcanist Thalyssra. I remember where your order stood in the War of the Ancients. How do we know you won’t betray us and become the next Elisande… the next Azshara.
First Arcanist Thalyssra says: We do not intend to be slaves to the Nightwell. We seek to drive the Legion from Suramar and put an end to Elisande’s oppression.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: The Kaldorei will fight to see the Legion defeated and the Nightwell destroyed. Beyond that… we shall see where Elune.
Suramar was liberated, the Nightwell been destroyed. Tyrande did not answer to her, therefore Thalyssra said the following.
First Arcanist Thalyssra says: It would seem “Elune’s wisdom” guided her away from the bond we once shared. So be it.
You are saying she had to wait, but she has waited enough, after the death of Elisande, destruction of the Nightwell, they needed an allies, therefore, if their own kin from Kalimdor have refused them, (refused because no answer was given.) we will join other ones was the logic.
The game should have explained that the event was before the liberation of the Suramar, as I believe almost 99% people are thinking that the Nightbonre have joined the Horde because Tyrande was rude at them.
No, she was not, just did not give an answer.
The Nightborne were a Quel’dorei Kal’dorei back then, and as I told you, they were assinged to protect the pillars of the creation.
Moreover, please read above the explanation I wrote of why The Shal’dorei have joined the Horde.
Let’s face it people, they put what amounts to nuclear arms in a civilian city making it a target of war. Then cry about it when they get hit.
The Nightborne joining the Horde makes so little sense that the entire quest to unlock them as an Allied race is literally one long half-asked retcon.
Throughout all of our questing in Suramar the Nightborne were portrayed as culturally political, clever and duplicitous. We also get an entire scene where Thalyssra talks about how she and other Shaldorei remember being night elves;
It makes no sense they’d so much as be phased by anything Tyrande said. They’d view her as just another political rival playing the game. It would have made more sense for the Nightborne to - instead of forsaking the kaldorei to join a fraction of a fraction of their remaining empire - remain neutral and play the field between the Kaldorei and Sindorei in an effort to reunite and rebuild their former empire.
Instead we get one of the limpest retcons in all of WoW’s history in which the Nightborne become thin-skinned snowflakes who won’t stop boasting about how honorable they are. It’s nauseating but after the way Blizzard de-fanged the Night Elves it’s no surprise they went through and de-fanged the Nightborne too.
The point was that Thalyssra is clearly overly sensitive. Considering she did abandon the Nelves 10k years ago and they still wen out to help her race then she’s lucky she’s getting away with some mistrust.
The Novelization of the event actually says every horde race helped, nightborne included, in the burning of teldrassil. So yeah, that’s false.
Yea Thalyssra is my second least favorite character with Sylvanas being first. Thalyssra is basically the games biggest hypocrite.
There’s literally nothing lorewise that says hey didn’t go lol.
The Horde conquers and kills much more things than just the Alliance lol.
people love to try and use that defense. but even if there is a source behind it. they still remained a part of the horde after that event.
Every race meaning the CORE races not the allied races.
so, if they say “every race fought in the battle for undercity”, you will overlook the blatant presence of alleria and her void elves there?
Gotta say, you are going really all out trying to wash the hands of nightborne for participation in war crimes.
Lore doesn’t distinguish between game mechanics…
That’s what happens when Blizzard let Danuser write his stupid fanfic not giving a damn for any of the characters. All this Teldrassil plotline was the most stupid moment in all of the wow lore. Not only was abandoned without any satisfactory conclusion, but made every character involved in it a gigantic buffoon.
Makes me wish Thalyssra would withdraw from the Horde and take a more neutral stance on things. Plenty of other factions that would enjoy helping them out.
The Explorer’s League and the Reliquary for starters. They could exchange long-forgotten knowledge for assistance in getting back into the world.
Yea, the way it was portrayed Sylvanas could’ve said “tactically speaking everyone must wear clown shoes and makeup for this battle because this is the best strategy we have” and the horde would’ve followed it to fit danuser’s sylvanas is so smart narrative.
Its still so funny seeing all the people who think the Nightborne choosing the Sin’dorei over the Kal’dorei doesn’t make sense. You have a group that approached the Nightborne with judgement and disdain opposed to a group that went we understand your plight and are here to help. Then add in that once past superficial appearances the Sin’dorei were culturally a better ideological match and that the Horde as a whole is far less judgmental about past mistakes.
Heck, I am confused on the whole bit. How can 4 catapults ignite a tree that big as rode island? How they lost two territories in cata so easily. They were winning before. How can a war Chief just walk away from a major victory? She was after souls that battle would have been epic. I can go on and on but my head hurts. I played Night elf tons and done a whole lot of quests there and I still can not see it burning down with all the wetness around the area.
Oh it’s fine they choose some friends, even though nelves didn’t do much against them either, they were literally saved by a Nelf after all.
But the funny thing is when they decided to join a war. Is not just like they decided to keep talking to a guy instead of the other, is that they immediately turned to kill the people who helped them.
Also horde far less judgemental?
Half the Horde races are there for “vengeance”. While the alliance have been forgiving the horde since forever.
Heck the alliance accepted the void elves you kicked out after all.
Remember when ragnaros himself was unable to burn a world tree? lol
Yes, I do and one of the main reasons I am confused. There is a clue that maybe their god had a big hand in the burning of the tree. As she sent the souls to what she thought her sister. It is the only thing that makes a very small sense it is a rather dumb story.
