Nightborne and night elf model

Both work for me! I embrace my femininity, if that’s what you’re implying.

This made me LOL. Omg, I always heard that there was a distinction but jesus, I have never seen it like that. That is truly horrifying.

Your point? fridges are frikin awesome, they have snacks. not to mention are a snack

Thisss is definitely a personal-taste thing. Don’t get me wrong, I think they’re attractive - but personally I prefer a lil more OOMPH in my guys. And of course not having competition for whose prettier 24/7 is a pretty nice perk.

It’s not - I’m just being honest. if you look at the science behind why some men are “pretty” it actually kind of makes sense. If both races were real you’d probably detect a much higher testosterone level in Draenei then in Blood Elves.

What can I say. As someone who draws, I like my men with proper proportions, not like something that looks that could topple with ease if they take a wrong step because the top it’s too heavy.

Male blood elves look like legitimately fit men, not roided walls of muscles.

… I want to get isekai’d into WoW so I can have a harem of male blood elves pls.

To be fair, I’d imagine the balance male draenei get from their tails would prevent something like this. Plus them thighs are pretty muscular.

With that strut they have, for some reason I can’t help but visualizing them as being really clumsy when it comes to dealing with the tail.

You’re not wrong. I still kind of wonder how they turn around without knocking everything off the table.

Tables? With how heavy that thing should be to maintain the balance, thresholds would be demolished in every Alliance town

These comparisons depress me every time. I did not play during Legion and most of BFA and when I came back I was really excited to get this AR. But when I unlocked them I realized just how bad the playable versions looked…

I only have 1 Nightborne. They started male and I tried to stick with that. I recently changed them to female because I can stand the model at least. Those cranky old man faces are just so bad!
I fear that they will not bother trying to remake the model but that is honestly the only way to fix them in my opinion. The wonky anatomy and bad faces… Maybe they could do face shape options like humans have but I would rather just have an updated NPC model.

I really hope they get a lot of attention soon because out of all races Nightborne really need help. I would play multiples if they looked like they should!
I also wish the heritage armor had looked more like what the NPCs wear  The males can’t even show off their tattoos! Why??

It’s because they’re lazy and just halfassed reskinned Nelfs for NB.

The developers cut every corner developing the Nightborne and they squandered the potential of the race players were most excited for in Legion.

Article: Wowhead - Blizzard Interview: Allied Races

Question: Any special tech or programs needed for customization of Allied Races like glowing hair tips?

Ya, we had to get a special tech for how the full body tattoos shine on the Nightborne. Same with the Entropic Embrace - it’s different from Shadow Priest’s Voidform, since it’s Just their skin color and not mounts, or armor so that required new tech as well.

Barely visible body tattoos required “special tech.” Groundbreaking work, Blizzard.

Question: What was the hardest Allied Race to design from an art angle?

Nightborne was the most difficult - mostly because we had to up the fidelity of the facial animations when they became player characters. Had to move some bones around! The data perspective also was difficult - lots of back-end data converting NPCs to PCs.

This is probably the most hilarious statement they could have made. Did they think that we wouldn’t notice that the playable model looks nothing like the NPCs?

Yes, definitely!

You are not a girl, not yet a woman.

Seems to be a limitation of their character models not being able to handle narrow eye lids. We saw the same thing with the difference between their mock up of Asian customizations versus what we got in game.

I am not entirely sure the Nightborne model is even fixable until they overhaul the PC models again like in WoD.

Dog, have you seen the male model for Night Elves? it aint good, like at all.

yes they seriously need some fixing

My hope is that they will add this face to the game when allied race get their pass on customizations.

Night elves still have face issues, and it’s been six years? All the good female faces are gone.

I think their main focus in next patch should be adding allot customization to allied races

The Nightborne need the npc models ASAP. So disappointing when they released. The male models just don’t look like how I envision them now after working with them in Suramar. But the night elves look good to me. Female model faces absolutely look different from their original faces but they DO offer more variety in looks than any other race imo. I wish we could see that sort of variety in more races. When you compare night elves to something like gnomes or Draenei it is crazy how different the night elves can look from one another.

I wanted to play a Nightborne so badly but man they just look horrible in pretty much every department. The females probably just need more options, but the males need to just be completely redone. They use the Night Elf skeleton and it looks awful on them, they’re disproportionately skinny in some places and muscular in other places. Oh and of course, their faces don’t look a bit like a Nightborne.
