Highborne has been another thing the alliance has requested since Cataclysm, when they joined the Night elves (if you don’t know, that’s why nelves have mages). While many of them undoubtedly died, they are still around as we can see them on the warfront.
Some bluer skin colours, less feral and more elegant markings as well as other shades of silverish hair would be great. Maybe some jewelry too and more elegant beard styles for the males.
Seems to be a pretty clear direction to diversify night elves. If Dwarves are getting wildhammer, I think Night elves getting Highborne/Shren’dralar shouldn’t be an isue.
I think Night Elf customizations could go in a way to explore their savage nature and their connection with the environment. Nightborne today have a totally different concept, they like jewels, silver, ornaments, luxury and the connection with nature drove always Nelfs from it, even Shendralar.
My suggestion is to create woody hairtyles with leaves in it. I think it would be beautiful and perfect.
I’m not sure if they’d want to give NE players golden eyes. That’s considered a sign that they’re destined for greatness (per the flashback to Illidan/Malfurion as babies in Legion). Though, I guess it’s pretty easy to argue the PC fills that requirement too.
I’m ok with sharing things but I think they’re going to want to keep NB and NEs aesthetically different based off of their dominant themes (nature/wild theme vs arcane/city). They cared enough about it to actively remove the flip from NB jumping.
I’m betting that expanded NE customization will focus more on the savage/wild aspect and NB will get more “cultured” styles (for lack of a better term).
But you lost your angular features and now your eyes glow so brightly you can spot a night elf in Winterspring from Tanaris! Isn’t that what you wanted?!
