NGL Hogwarts Legacy looks good

Anyways massive cultural tidal wave aside, the game is looking pretty bad, so I’m not sure any of you armchair pundits have much to worry about.

Game looks great, also it is already being sold out of the wazoo.

Anti-semitism is a non-starter for me. I’m not Jewish, I don’t know any jews. I’m also not White and I don’t know any White Nationalists.

I’m Roma and my family history goes through the Holocaust, but none of my family was Jewish.

So I really don’t understand Anti-Semitism.

I agree with Whoopi. The Holocaust was not about race. It was about one fascist group purging those they deemed “undesirable.”

As far as I can tell, Jewish people are white. :person_shrugging:

Please tell me why this looks any better than every other generic open world game we’ve seen in the last ten or more years? Why is a developer responsible for working on Disney Infinity have the cred to suddenly make a massive AAA project?

Maybe, but given the… controversies surrounding Rowling, it wouldn’t surprise me if this was intended to bait a flamefest.

In my humble opinion, people should really read more books instead of obsessing over one series.

Then why did my family get executed? We’re not Jews.

What I enjoy about this thread is that it shows me who to put on ignore forever.

The IP. Harry Potter is still huge.

Like, I’d give anything to have a Lord of the Rings open world game like this one. (Shadow of Mordor/War doesn’t count).

A little light went off in my head there, they probably couldn’t find a studio with a pedigree willing to take this kind of controversy :dracthyr_crylaugh:

Here I am in the middle just saying well hate it or love it the game is probably gonna blow!

Honestly, the game looks amazing but always always beware of hype

Yeah sorry but it really doesn’t. It appears to be boring, directionless and intentionally obtuse in presentation to mask downfalls. Sorry!

I’m personally hoping Discworld or Earthsea have a resurgence one of these days, but man, there are a lot of fantasy realms with a lot of potential when you think about it.

I can’t believe some people are actually buying it for the PS4, X1 and Switch.

It’s like you people didn’t learn anything from Cyberpunk 2077. If the only console you have is last gen, just sell it and use that money to get a $280 6600 XT.

We will see, combat looks great, the story sounds fun and the side events looks amazing. Only thing I’m worried about is the open world. You could be right, you can also be wrong.

Just the ‘t’, from what’s been reported

Yessss. LOTR, Warhammer, Legend of Zelda even. I need more RPGs where I can create a character and exist in a world. It would be so cool to create a human and then maybe like join up with the Rangers of Ithilien. Maybe see Faramir. Defend Gondor.

War in the North is such a fun game. It’s not as open world as I’d like it to be, but playing through the campaign with 2 friends was one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

Is the game powered by the blood of orphans??

Worse. It lines the pockets of a bigot. J.K. Rowling is hateful and deplorable, and being able to enjoy Hogwart’s Legacy really comes down to one of two things: 1) being able to genuinely separate the art from the artist (hard in this case since a lot of her bigotry is reflected in the universe), or 2) not having a problem with her bigoted worldviews.

Most surviving fans fall into the second category.

I was a Harry Potter superfan for many years. But once she made her bigoted opinions known, the series lost all of its charm to me and became repulsive. Different people will have different reactions.

As opposed to all the other games that get discussed around here? Please. This was just a group of manbabies that have a hate on for all things J.K Rowling. If the subject had been any other game nothing would have happened.
