NGL Hogwarts Legacy looks good

Oh no, that’s my weakness-- :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:

Given the current state of the video game industry and how often this has been happening lately for new releases… I think it’s less negativity, and more a healthy dose of skepticism.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO QUIDDITCH?! :dracthyr_uwahh_animated: :dracthyr_uwahh_animated: :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:

it would be perfect but no quidditch

No game is perfect. That’s an extreme dose of depressing not skepticism.

True enough - but it isn’t unusual lately for games to look amazing in previews and trailers, only to have something borderline broken, unfinished, or intentionally yanked out to be sold as DLC. It’s just the current state of the video game industry, and why I personally stopped preordering games except in very rare cases. I prefer to see what the game is like first from reviews, videos, and discussions before deciding if I want to fork out money for it.

I don’t think that’s depressing or “negative”. I think it’s being responsible and not buying in to hype.

Oh I never pre order. I agree, hype and previews have always been deceiving. I always wait.

God I wanna see this hogwarts game with a bunch of Pokemon Scarlet/ Violet type bugs

That would be hilarious

While this is a valid warning for just about any game, I don’t think Hogwarts Legacy is anywhere close to ambitious as Cyberpunk was promising. So the chances of it crashing and burning are still there, it’s hard to imagine it being close to that mess.

Please no. :dracthyr_cry: I am glad I cancelled my Pokemon preorder, those games are an absolute mess right now. Beyond bad. And this is what happens when people keep buying and preordering stuff from Gamefreak, who have made it clear they no longer care about giving proper time to development or double checking quality before pushing it to market.

Honestly my 2 playthrus only had issues where the camera would peek under the floor or that T Posing at the very end of the intro cutscene.

its gonna be a cyberpunk we only got what, a few minutes of in game footage? same as cyberpunk they made the first 3 hours look like thats the entire game

Some people are lucky, though I’ve heard the performance is pretty bad in general even if you don’t run into horrid bugs or full-on crashes.

It’s unfortunate, too. S/V look like they’ve brought some really good ideas to the table in terms of refreshing the Pokemon game genre, but… the games were released in such a horrid state that it’s difficult to enjoy them.

Puts on thick nerd glasses

Adding to this in universe biased perspective, an out narrative perspective paints that during the time the books do take place, that Slytherin ended up in a self fulfilling prophecy of screwing itself.

After Voldemort’s rise and fall, lots of people who weren’t all crazy didn’t want to be in Slytherin House, so the only people that did choose to go there were well, Death Eaters and their kids. Keep this going for a generation and boom. You get the Always Stupid Evil Slytherin House.

Thus why I’m curious to see what a Slytherin house looked like pre-Voldemort.

I would still recommend it.

Perhaps mine had less issues because it was a digital download. I dunno.

You kinda get used to some of the jank

I mean that’s Gamefreak in general, they’ve rushed games and have had game breaking bugs and glitches in almost every single one of their games since Red, Blue, and Green launched.

+10 POINTS TO HUFFLEPUFF!

yeah definitely a hufflepuff

Talk nerdy to me more about Harry Potter. :dracthyr_heart:

Honestly, this is definitely a reason why I’d be tempted to play Slytherin - beyond it just being my usual house to pick if I don’t pick Gryffindor. We so rarely get to see Slytherin represented in a way that deviates from how the books portray it, and especially not during a time before He Who Must Not Be Named royally screwed the house’s name up for years to come.

I just wish I didn’t dislike the common room so much. But maybe I should go give the house previews a watch again, it’s been a while.

Oh, I still plan to grab it eventually! I can’t pass up Pokemon games, and outside of the… not always stellar graphics and environment detailing, the setting of S/V really hits me on the aesthetic level. I’ll just probably be waiting until after many of its most glaring issues are fixed, as I did with Arceus and Sw/Sh!

well they showed off a lot it seems. But we will see. The combat looks great and the open world doesn’t look too bad. But you’re right in just waiting and seeing how the game truly is. Cyberpunk is a great game, after they fixed a lot of the issues.

I can safely say, ScVi is the best worst gaming experience I’ve had in a long time. The game itself, is /chefskiss. I love the new ideas they took with the story and the gameplay, with a bit of refinement this could be what the Pokemon games could and should be going forward.

Just…Lightdamn do they need to actually finish the game next time because that ish is rough and unforgivable.

Same. I’ve been ride or die Slytherin since the first iteration of Pottermore came out and I answered those questions 100% honestly, and boom. Slytherin. Since then, never looked back. Green and Silver all day.

Years ago I was hoping we’d get some new stories either way after the original series or way before so we could get some new perspectives on the other houses. Unfortunately, Rowling decided to be…just the worst and WB absolutely failed at making Fantastic Beatss, so it’s very unlikely we’ll get anything official outside of games.

EDIT Three: OMG i actually forgot there was that play with Harry’s kid in Slytherin. But that was awful lmao

Seems to be the running theme for almost the last ten years or so for games. No Man’s Sky turned out to be a great game after Hello Games got done lying to everyone and actually sat down to do some work.
