So you’re telling me The Depraved’s Guild Master is telling you that you dont have a spot in Mythic raiding because you dont have your BiS corruption?
Not me personally, because I am part of the casual team that is just starting to do mythic, but yes, raiders I know have been shelves or have gone to the top of the meters because of their corruption.
What am I doing that is new and exciting 3-6 months down the road that I already haven’t done a dozen times over? The acquisition of corruption resistance is slow as hell. Imagine wanting to to equip three 75 corruption items lol.
This isn’t like your account wide essence complaints where literally any player can get Rk3 of all essences in under a month. It would take you literally half a year to be able to equip three 75 corruption items and possibly never get them to begin with due to RNG.

This is such a bad decision. Why is this happening?
Do to the high damage output of corruption, such as Gushing Wounds, at what point does my interest in best stats turn to best corruption?
I’m no longer interested in Raiding, hoping that my BiS bracers will proc corruption… Since I’m guaranteed corruption from these visions, I might as well just sololy do them and hope for the right RNG of stats and corruption.
It’s yet more RNG added to the game, and if rolling corruption is more important than the right stats, it will out value anything else in this game.
And like I’ve posted before, it will overload corruption in PvP.
This is an extremely poor decision and WoW will lose a lot of people who want to raid and group together because of it.

Wrong. I’d rather get gear from multiple sources. Tower of toghast in shadowlands and m+ will be where I gear from.
Raiding with 19 elitist whinging parasites doesn’t interest me
But you “have to” to stay relevant compared to the others who do.
Again, I cannot stress this enough, I feel like it will completely ruin PvP. Some games you just die in two hits, and that will just make all competition feel like a joke.

And for PvE, if boss X drops my bracers with haste/versa. I’m excited to kill him for the item and I’ll come back next week for maybe a chance at a good corruption on it.
However, if I know corruption will 100% be on the RNG bracers from Visions, I would rather look forward to that. Especially if I want to stack corruption because it’s more of a dps increase.
If I don’t care what my stats are, and I just want corruption because its so ridiculously powerful right now, why wouldn’t I do the content that guarantees me corruption before anything else.

Sorry mythic raiding, I’d rather have rank3 infinite stars on my bracers than whatever rank2 tentacle crap you offer.
While i don’t know your guild’s exact reasoning for sitting people. I guarantee it has to do with more than just corruption. You could have best corruption, but if you dont perform in fights (mechanics/surviving) while still doing good damage, im sure you will be sat.
They’re trying something new. Take it for what it is, run with it. It’s not affecting you directly. BiS corruption makes things easier, but isnt a must. Some guild leader’s may be tunneling too hard into it and using that as an excuse to sit people, but even if thats the case, it’s not the player’s fault. I promise you another guild will take you without having BiS corruption. Be glad to leave the guild you’re in if they’re sitting you for not having BiS corruption because you would’ve eventually left or been sat anyway for one reason or another.
Like you said, you dont have to do the content if you dont want to. But i dont see why you wouldnt want to. You’re still going to get gear thats going to make you stronger and as your guild gets stronger you will be able to do harder bosses. Being able to get CE is the end game of wow. If it was never your intention to go for CE, then BiS corruption shouldnt affect you and you should just be happy with whatever gear you have.

My friend says this a lot, and that’s not how this works.
For example-- You have 15 raiders, but only 10 raid slots.
All 15 raiders can perform the simple fight mechanics properly, but you are losing out on killing the boss due to the enrage timer. (substitute mythic+ timer here)
Now, in this case, the problem isn’t mechanics, its tuning. If you are not meeting a timer because of DPS, you wanna take the best/highest DPS possible. If corruption substantially increases that DPS, then yeah, certain people will be taken over others due to corruption.
Do you really though? Play what’s fun and enjoy your time in game.

I dont have BiS corruption on anything but my bow. I have two other hunter’s in my guild with Severe r3, and i still compete in damage. I may not have ONE 75 corruption item, but i have multiple low corruption items. My damage is still competitive. So i’m sorry, but the scenario you’re putting affects maybe 5% of the player base, if that.

There’s people doing 2/3rds of their damage via passive effects. I think you are downplaying just how strong corruption gear is.
Having enough IT gear as an hpriest can let you cast salvation 3 times in a short fight. I mean there are logs that show just how much corruption is doing for people.

I am happy with what I have. I don’t raid mythic at all really anymore other than the first few bosses so I have completed everything I intend to do other than get the elite pvp set which I will prob do at some point in time soon.

I’m not saying some corruption doesnt do 20% of peoples damage. I’m saying it is not the reason 95% of the players are being sat, and if your raid leader is telling you that you need to sit because you dont have r3 IS or r3 Severe or whatever corruption is BiS for you, then you should reconsider who you want as a leader. Raid leaders should understand their roster have no control over corruption rng. However, their roster does have control over their BiS essences, Cloak rank, Rotation, Mechanics, and ability to Survive fights. That’s how you should go about sitting people. Not rng.
Most of the people have all of those things though, is what you are not getting. Which leaves corruption as the deciding factor. If you actually want to do progression mythic you already had your best essences and have done the cloak as soon as it was up-gradable on tuesdays.
I think the elite problem has spread quite a bit over the years though within a lot of guilds. This happened in the last mythic guild I was in and that’s why I left. If you aren’t rolling FOTM or in BFA’s case corruptions/essences you get to sit. Guilds sitting at 100-500 thinking they are a top 5 guild.
So you’re telling me the only reason X guild is wiping is because of an enrage timer? Nobody is dying? Everyone performs 100% perfect?
