The Bard was already an April Fools joke for being the next Guitar Hero class after DKâs.
Personally them becoming an actual class wouldnât surprise me, and being a life long D&D bard player and ffxiv bard main, Iâd be all for Bards being added to wow.
I hope it aint bard. Just screams lame af and honestly imo doesnât fit in this game
ETC are literally Lore characters, having them become class trainers isnât even a stretch.
Bergrisst even took on a ring name to fight in the brawlers guild as ROCK ON when he teamed up with Epicus Maximus as well as And a Dinosaur forming the team Epicus Maximus, Paragon of Epicosity.
So just a normal day on the GD then
Bring on the crick elf bards alreadyâŚor at least give us a giant straw hat.
Donât really feel like taco bell. Thanks tho.
Actually a bard class to me will save retail.
Also, the bard class HAS to be a healer not a dps, because letâs be honest, people are intolerant of bad dps but nobody cares if youâre a bad healer if the boss is dying.
Yeah BFA was Blizzard trolling us.
Dark Rangers have been requested way before these.
Shamans were Bards when their totems provided group buffs, I see the inclusion of a âbuffâ type class as taking what Shamans used to do and shoving their totems where the sun donât shine.
2 spec class as healer and RDPS most likely. Melee bard just ainât happening.
Guitar Hero Class!
Well that is just a ret paladin anyway.
Hereâs my issue with Bard.
Firstly, letâs put aside the whole debate regarding whether or not it fits in with the WarCraft universe. Yes, ETC is a sideshow joke and thatâs the closest equivalent⌠but Pandaren began as an artistâs Easter eggs that became more and more legitimized and they wound up theming an entire expansion around them, complete with a race and class. If we can get Pandaren, literally anything with the slightest bit of precedent is possible, no matter how slight.
The core issue is the role of the Bard. In virtually every incarnation of the class, it is a support role. Yes, you can tweak it to fit other things, but the core intent of the class is that it supports its team through song. Contrary to popular belief in the WoW community, a straight up healer is not a support class.
You know what were support classes? Shaman and Paladin. Shaman had leanings to buff its party offensively, and the Paladin focused more on defense. This support role is the reason that Keldar here exists.
The unfortunate bit?
That support role no longer exists in WarCraft.
TBC saw the developers attempt to keep the support role relevant by giving the support classes to both factions. Unfortunately, come WotLK, the decision was made to focus on the holy trinity of RPGs, and the support functions of these classes were gutted. Aspects that made them unique were either removed entirely or began to be homogenized with other classes.
Both classes still struggle with a bit of an identity crisis to this day, and are constantly being reinvented to find their niche. But without a clear distinction as a support class, their gameplay still struggles.
So what does this mean for Bard? Well, my question is: If it isnât a support class, is it really a Bard?
If this does happen, anyone in a dungeon group that says âToss a coin to youâ will be kicked at that point lol. That or tank leaves
This doesnât prove anything grasping for straws
Thereâs a Witcher reference in ardenweald, toss a seed to your hunter is the achievement for killing the rare with him
Edit: thereâs daffodil there as well, so another bard
Thereâs a Broker thing (Whatever those guys are called in Oribos lol) that is playing a harp. Give me a bard!
Literally just forsaken hunters.
Just because a race has a specific name for their members of a class doesnât mean itâs a whole different class. Do you think we need Blood Knight as itâs own class too?
