Newbie channel gone? Where to level?

Hi, I lost my newbie channel abruptly, I think because I hit level 70

  1. Is there any way to get it back?

  2. Suddenly everything in the dragon isles is low level and that makes the quests harder to follow so I’m trying to figure out where I should be leveling for 70+. Specifically I’m looking for whatever the “current experience” is supposed to be. I have quest strings that start out to shadowlands or battle for azeroth, I don’t know if any of those will just be like dragon isles, too low level?
    since the NPC/quest auto level matching stuff stops, I suspect that there’s specific zones to level in now??

side note: the game should probably tell you this when you reach L70

I know nothing about this newbie channel, but likely since you’re 70 and basically ready for TWW I think it’s gone for good. And also you’re ready for The War Within, so wander around the stormwind, look at the command board. Of course, you need the War Within to play it.

1. Newcomer Chat

Yes, you are removed from Newcomer Chat when you hit … I think it’s 70 or 71 now, but I see the Blizzard Support Help Articlle still says 61?

You will be removed from Newcomer Chat once you’ve reached level 61 and have 40 hours played.

Anyway, you are removed when you reach the current expansion.

Which, by the way, is a COSMICALLY DAFT thing to do in an MMO so focused on Endgame. The first month or two after reaching max level is the time you would need Newcomers Chat the most. There aren’t enough :person_facepalming:

2. Current Experience

Technically, our current experience is The War Within, so at level 70, you should get the quest The War Within when you enter Stormwind or Orgrimmar. TYhat will get you 70 to 80.

We are right now in the pre-patch for the next expansion, Midnight, coming in like 3 weeks. That will get you 80 to 90.

If you haven’t yet bought The War Within expansion or the Midnight expansion, you cannot get beyond level 70. If this is the case, and you want to continue, you need to buy Midnight, which includes The War Within:
