Sheep mount would be so cozy, it should give you rest EXP if you log out on it! 
A giant kiwi that runs so far before sticking its beak in the ground to look for grubs.
Or, maybe, a kakapo the giant parrot that can’t fly but just waddles around.
Let’s face it, an island nation with no native mammals and mostly flightless birds has a severe lack of animals to mount.
