You’re introduced to Merrix as the Councilward. You’d remember the councilward. Who on earth looks at Merrix and says, “Oh yeah, market guy” exactly? He’s one of the four leaders of the Earthen.
That’s like looking at Varian and saying, “Oh yeah, human sword guy” or looking at Drek’Thar and saying, “Oh, Ice Orc.”
How do you look at a councilward and say, “Oh, market guy” again? I know exactly who Merrix is. I’m sorry you struggled with that but don’t take it out on other people. Especially when you claim to not care.
You’re really trying to push that made up story that what, a small company that helps with story stuff, including helping people get in touch with representative of cultures that the client wants to include in their story so they feel authentic, was going to pay what was it, a million to a chinese company to help them understand a chinese myth?
Or did they come up with a new made up story?
Maybe because the quests where you actually deal with him all start with the quests about finding contraband in the market, and the councilward stuff in the main story he’s just in a generic leader role that doesn’t stand out yet?
Andyin sat by amd did a lot of nothing. Baelgrim had a very short quest line and past that sacrificed himself thus ending his role in anything further.
I’d need to even know what you’re talking about for that.
All I’ve seen is some reporting on bad culture in chinese game dev in general, and that company in specific. There was the weirdness that might have been translation error about review copy guidelines, but that just seemed to be more chinese gov’t as there was stuff about covid there.
And after it was out I heard basically (admittedly more from souls enjoyers) that it was mid at best, and one guy had to quit because it was boring him due to the combat. Oh, and that it was on the dark and gritty bandwagon.
I can just imagine the absolute fit that actually would be happening if channels like E, Lifetime and the rest started playing Chuck Norris, Steven Segal and all the old action flicks all the time because they want to appeal to a “wider audience”
A supermajority of the leaders in the game are men. Neither faction is anywhere near parity, the only big name female leader in the horde spent like 10 years eating villain bats, the night elves launched with a man as their most visible racial leader, and the dwarven queen was basically sidelined as plot development for Varian.
