New to BC so any tips?

im not “new new” to classic wow since my first time playing classic wow was when classic wow (battle.net release) was released few years ago, that being said i am sort of hooked on BC, so these may seem like noob questions and silly questions at that but bare with me.

  1. how do i get to outland ?
  2. best raid / dungeon spots ??

“but this game is almost 18 years old!! how could you have not played it!?!?!?” i played a different mmo or just other games that don’t require a subscription, i was a child at the time lol.

Prep for Wrath because its on the way super fast.

Imo, get to70, join a guild, make friends and just have fun.

To get to Outland, go through the dark portal at 58+ or have a lock summon you.

Best raid or dungeon spots are the ones that you can consistently get into. Best bet is within a group of friends or guild.

At level 58 there will be a quest available in the blasted lands at the dark portal. Classic tbc is currently a waiting room for wotlk so juat do whatever prep you want for that

You can either go through the Dark Portal, which is in The Blasted Lands at level 58, or you can get a lock summon or mage portal to Shattrath,

Depends on your level/gear, and maybe even the server you’re playing on (population/progression, etc.). It’d probably be best if you find a group of people that is just coming back and getting ready for WotLK Classic to level/gear up with.

Don’t bother with trying to raid. Most people are really geared now and refuse to take fresh 70s. You’re too late to truly experience TBC. Just farm gold and make friends so you can get a good start in Wrath of the Lich King.

That sounds like projection. It’s unfortunate that you’ve had negative experiences Delts, but that doesn’t mean the OP will.

Enjoy your game time OP

Outland is open at level 58. You can certainly do that, and probably should do that. First few quests may be a little rough, but quests & gear rewards are significantly better.

Portal is location in Blasted Lands zone in Eastern Kingdoms.

Today, there aren’t as many dungeon groups 60-70 as there were at TBC Launch.
Most groups need tanks. Most groups want paladin tanks.

My advice to you would be the following:

  • Ding 58 and go through portal
  • Do like ~20 or so quests in Honor Hold (quest hub in the zone) and replace 80% of your gear.
  • Decide if you want to tank or not. If you do, make sure to get a shield from one of the quests & slap a Shield Spike on it.
  • THE SECOND you get 62 as warrior, google “wow tbc lichen shield” and how you can get it. It’s going to be your best shield as warrior tank until 67 or even 70. It does a bit of extra damage and warriors are rough to tank as while leveling. Make sure to slap a shield spike on it too. It is not a lot, but it helps.

Feel free to tag me later if you want more pointers. Happy to help.

I have 2 t6 geared characters and 1 Sunwell geared character. I’m just telling OP the truth so they’re not disappointed after being rejected from the 300th pug

  1. You need to be at least 58 to go to outland unless you use a portal or summon. I wait until 60 though for easier questing. Either way, just go to dark portal in blasted lands.
  2. Shaman. A raid will never have too many totems or bloodlust. The class basically has no ceiling in this game. I switched out my rogue for shaman long ago and never looked back. This class is in its prime right now because totems, windfury, and bloodlust are all changed in wrath. Shaman stacking will no longer be a thing. It’ll be about paladin stacking in wrath.

-So post on one of those instead a retail realm sockpuppet.
