Pine mountains offer nice things to look at, though.
Vol’dun was good for a desert zone but that has more to do with the story than the actual zone itself.
Now Zuldazar was a masterpiece imo. March of the Loa was some next level hype for me.
All I see is Pine Trees and rugged terrain… The flat Pine Forests are superior as they can be used for ghostly Horror which has not been used to it’s fullest.
The Ghost Horror has been used in Drustvar(which was a Beech Tree Forest) and Duskwood(which was a Fantasy Dark Forest). Gothic Forest was done in Tirisfal Glades and Silverpine Forest yet both lacked the horror elements of Duskwood and Drustvar.
Eastern Plaguelands had Ghosts yet due to all the Orange everywhere turned into a Rot-themed Zone not a Horror-themed Zone.
What we need is a grey fog-filled Ghost Horror Zone. A Zone that works in a similar way to the Rift of Aln(which was an area with horrors creeping through the fog/mist of the Infinite Dark as the game itself calls it). A Pine Forest filled with grey fog with horrors hiding around every corner!
An Expansion is a whole Continent! Silent Hill should be expected as a Zone for the realm of Ghosts… Preferably a Pine Forest Silent Hill…
The Life in the Realms of Decay should of course look vibrant in comparison to the Dead wandering their realm… The Dead wander the Physical Plane just as they do the Realms of Decay. The main difference between the two realms is that Ghosts tend to gravitate towards the Realms of Decay rather than the Great Dark Beyond.
Life should get the vibrant Zones while the Ghosts should get creepy Silent Hill-esque Zones and yes the Blood-Stained Otherworld should be a Zone alongside the Grey Fog Forest(we also need a GW: Nightfall-style Fleshy Domain of Pain-esque Zone).
Do the areas up on top of Blade’s Spire Mountains from BC count?
Noticed a couple of Forests resembling Terokkar… The Transparent Crystals are so out of the way that the Zone can’t truly represent the Crystal Desert… It’s a Sci-Fi Desert combined with Mystic Forest(by Mystic I mean the Mystics from the Dark Crystal not the Kokiri Forest!!!) just as how Hellfire is a Sci-Fi Desert mixed with Medieval Desert!
Outland for the most part is a Dark Crystal/Sci-Fi Continent. The Draenei and Arakkoa areas in Outland are all resembling the Mystics while the Legion and Ethereal areas resemble Sci-Fi…
The only other Dark Crystal-esque areas in WoW are Silithus(resembles the Bah-Lem Valley surrounding Castle of the Crystal during the Movie) and Spires of Arak(resembles the Stonewood Gelfling homelands and the Castle of the Crystal itself).
The Crystal Desert and the Vapra Homelands are the only places in the Dark Crystal not done in WoW I do believe.
I’ll say this on Shadowlands, I am more than happy to interact with dead characters in the Shadowlands, see deceased heroes and villains and let them play a role…
As long as they stay there. 'cept Vol’jin, he’s my only exception to my current no-ressurection policy.
Regardless, I’m hoping for some interactions without dragging them back with us.
Well it is called Bastion … a lot of connotations to that word
I think Vol’jin can be a main npc in shadowlands but doubt he is coming back as his alive story with the horde seems over. Bringing him back would restart a story cycle I think has completed.
