Everyone wants fresh
You* Want fresh. I don’t, so not everyone
I just activated my account in the hopes they will give us a fresh server. If not I will play for a month then decide if I will stick around.
everyone and i, want fresh. hehe. well not everyone. but alot.
You are probably better off making your case after the TBC launch. I wouldn’t think Blizzard would want to introduce additional servers of any kind until we see what populations do at launch.
There are just too many unknowns right now.
How many people are going to stay in Classic?
How many people are coming back for TBC?
How many people are doing both?
Which servers are new people selecting?
How many people are going to transfer and where?
Etc …
No, “we” don’t. It doesn’t seem like even a majority of, and certainly not all, players want fresh servers.
It would lead to the population being even more thinned out.
I mean either that or private servers become a thing
I am personally not against fresh servers. But when you have not had a response yet that is more than likely your answer.
You can also wait for launch. If it’s as nuts as the classic launch, and we know it will be, I am sure there will be fresh servers spun up.
If you recall, they did not make a blue post about those till they spun them up.
Wow. I wonder if anyone will ever figure out how to fix that problem. It’s like, an unfixable dilemma this dealing with dead servers. If only there were solutions . . .
they’ll give you a fresh server and charge people $25 dollars to create a character there
I respect your opinion, but I disagree.
I expect we will have to wait. They could say something in response to the other thread, or one of these like mine that I put out there in response to a request in the other thread. They could even say what you just said. Anything.
They haven’t. So we all will go ahead and express ourselves, and take the silence as our answer until we are heard. You’re correct.
I thought I’d be thorough. I apologise I come off as a Karen to you.
I just have to ask, Do you ever feel passionately about something? If this were something that bothered you, and other people had expressed themselves, but you hadn’t yet given your voice to the discussion, would you just sit there?
There is a difference between doing this out of necessity on their end as opposed to doing it because it is what so many in the community are asking for.
But yeah, they are a business. And they have to take into consideration low population servers that need players, sure. I get it. It doesn’t change how we feel about the issue.
Take care.
I still cant believe Blizz has yet to blue post us on any of the 4 fresh server threads
Fresh servers become every other server. The reason you fell behind in gold and gear the last time is the reason you will again. You’re trying to run from the sun. Just play the game.
I think it’s cute that you think Blizzard owes you a response to your demands.
What incentive do they have to make a statement? It will just make people mad.
If they respond:
“We will not be creating fresh servers while there are a dozen of extremely low population realms currently. There is plenty of space for new and returning players to go to. If every realm becomes high population with high queues, we will absolutely release new realms to make room for new players. But that is not the current case.”
You would collectively lose your minds. It would be a wall of threads about how “space isn’t why we want fresh servers, it’s about economy and progression blah blah blah”.
They could also respond:
“In an attempt to better monetize the platform we are offering $40 character boosts for new players and returning players. Fresh realms would assuredly decrease this revenue stream and defeat the purpose of our new monetization strategy. We will not release fresh servers until we’re confident that the majority of the available character boosts have been consumed by new and returning players, first.”
That’s a completely valid answer, but again you guys would lose your minds about how it’s “greedy” or “mercenary” for a publicly traded, fortune-500 company to care about profits.
Literally the only official response you guys would accept is “Here are a bunch of fresh realms, locked to transfers and boosts. Enjoy!”
You won’t get that. You won’t get that because my previous two examples are the real answer. It’s better for Blizzard to remain silent than be honest with you. And I understand why they’re doing it.
I will be playing the game. Thank you.
Have fun!

I’m glad to be of service to you.
Blizzard doesn’t have to roll out fresh servers if they choose not to. The request was for a reply from Blizzard whether they have plans for fresh servers or if that’s a hard no. You act as though it’s crazy for a company to respond to its customer’s questions. Well respected companies don’t totally ignore their customers, and I have no idea why you think it’s normal that they would.
Please see Stonecastle’s response above. It explains perfectly why a blue response is simply not practical.
