It feels really weird that a dragon race doesn’t have a tank spec. I’m happy with what they have as it works for my own wishes but we’ll see.

Saying the class should have a tank spec, is not saying the class should not have a DPS spec. It is actually odd that the only classes that have 3 roles, are all melee dps.

Really missed opportunity with making them a 2-spec class, and leaving black dragon powers out of the 2 we have. 100% should have an “earthguard” or something for tank spec.

Then it should of been a tank/dps spec. Tanks are the spec with the least players by a lot.

No more tanks, healer/RDPS is okay, it’s the opposite of demon hunters.

It seems like there are some lore reasons for black to be absent. All the dragons flying in were red, blue, green, and bronze. I think we will have to help Wrathion rebuild the flight or something.
They did say evokers used all 5 flights, even though dps primarily uses red and blue and heals green and bronze. Maybe the evoker’s defensive abilities use black?

I found it really odd they didn’t have a tank spec as well when it seems so obvious.
Druids and hunters pull off the ranged/melee combination fine, so it’s doable.
I wouldn’t have minded it being 4 spec… tank, melee dps, ranged dps, heals.
A dragonman tank sounds cool.

It isn’t, exactly, the class that is the issue. It’s the class and race being the same thing.
They’ve basically introduced a race that, by default, 1 in 5 of the people in your dungeon will never get to play as long as they do what they are enjoying.
20% of the people in group content (at least dungeons, I understand the scaling with raids and PvP make that different) just can’t enjoy the new race.
Melee DPS can, maybe, claim something similar but at least the ranged DPS seems to be highly mobile, which is kind of a nice middle ground.
With all that being said, I expect every single class to be radically revamped considering we have new talent trees, so this might still ensure people get something fresh gameplay wise

They’ve already said no, and I’m ok with that.
And I’m ok with this new class not being a tank. Ranged DPS and Healer is fine for it.
As for people saying “they need to tank”… they kinda don’t. Not that we “have enough tank classes”, but we don’t need an entirely new class to do it when we have an old class that SHOULD have been doing it all this time.

They haven’t been released yet. All we can do is hope blizzard listens to feedback and adds it in
